It’s so funny to see the different cultures reactions to buying these places: The Aussies are obsessed with the history. The English are obsessed with renovating the original construction precisely & the American gal STARTS CLEANING & LIVING!!!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED THAT !!! You bought a spectacular place that isn’t a ruin that you can actually stamp your personality on & live in. I LOVED THIS VIDEO

I’m a firm believer that the house and grounds will tell you what they need. Sleep on a mattress on the floor for a while and just walk the rooms and garden and it will open up to you. Enjoy, enjoy! I’ve been watching several French chateau and castle videos but yours appeals to me the most. It feels so homey and comfortable even without furniture. The stair railing is stunning and also the front door 💕💕

The last couple of years have been filled with many struggles before during and after the pandemic, I thought barely surviving covid was the worst but the lowest point was the loss of my marriage, and even though she is still alive I felt a deep grief as if my wife of 25 years had died, but videos like these give me hope not to give up on life, to overcome grief and depression, and maybe one day have loving memories in a chateau with someone who appreciates my love.

My humble advice (I've cleaned in the finest hotels in London): Wash the tiles on the floor and mirrors only with very warm/almost hot water without detergents. The secret is a good cloth or mop (the cheapest microfiber cloths are best). Then everything shines and looks its best. ❤

Well, I'm hooked. I visited the South of France in 2001 and have fantasized moving to a Chateau. And here you are! I look forward to watching your videos and living vicariously. One commenter said you should get all of us volunteers together to 'raise the barn' as we say in the Midwest. Bon Chance !!

How charming! I can see the draw. The outside is so beautiful. I can picture sitting out there enjoying the beauty. Congratulations!

I watched from start to finish so I think you can stop worrying about making KZbin Videos. I think you have a feel for what you like to see - a lot of us will come along with you for thew ride.

Yes, it is a bit overwhelming buying a property and living in another country that you are not just visiting. The u tube channel will help, and when you do voice overs and speed up the filming it makes the project more interesting. You can do this, you've done it before. Your past experiences good and bad will keep you going. Trust yourself, stay away from the brocants, and just clean. It's like being a poor college student in her first apartment, don't over spend and make luxuries few. LOL. 😁

Haha! Great analogy! The problem is, I need to set up 12 bedrooms in order to host the retreats! I now have help getting stuff on the French version of Craig's list though. A little cheaper!

Wow! This video just showed up in my suggestions...how very exciting and cool! I can't wait to go watch the other videos to get caught up & hopefully find out how this came about. What nice friends you have to come all that way to help you with some of the move in stuff especially cleaning! :) And Chloe is so precious!!! (I'm curious how things went with getting her through customs? Did she have to quarantine? SO exciting, I LOVE your new home!!!

No quarantine. I just needed a vet certificate and I carried her in a carrier onto the plane. She's totally chill about it. 🥰

Wow what a wonderful chateau. Are you planning to live there, or keep it as a holiday home? Love to see old historic homes come back to life again. 💕
