Well, we have a population density of 281 per Km2 in the UK, whilst USA (ofc it will change depending on the state) has a pop. density of 36 per Km2. So it makes quite a big chunk of sense that they can actually have spacious houses with garages and all the fluff :D We migrated to the UK with the missus a few years ago now, hopefully we will have the chance down the road to buy a property as well :)

my parents bought in Toronto in 1995. $280k for 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, decent back yard. Perfectly modest little house with some character (downtown - yorkville area near the University so the lots aren't even very large). Same house today... $2.2 MILLION DOLLARS. Homeowners who bought late 90's early 2000's made the best investments of their lives lmao. I look over at places like Texas and Utah and these guys have absolute mansions for mere hundreds of thousands.... shits crazy.

Totally impressed by your channel and this house buying entry rung a few memories. When I turned 30, felt I should buy a house. Day of closing, went back to little rental cottage and laid on bed feeling so overcome by the enormity of what I’d done. But, here’s my big tip: hopefully there’s no penalty about overpaying on monthly mortgage as whenever I could, I’d designate an extra hundred or three as “apply extra to principal”. Never had a concrete plan but ended up with the deed in hand, 12 years early. 😊

I just caught your Toyota RV video and then this one popped up. I lived in Indianapolis for 40 years and my Aunt and Uncle lived in Duluth their whole married life. I have distant cousins in International Falls. Strong family connection to MN but I've only been there a couple of times. Your convo about adulting reminded me of one of my sons. He had a difficult breakup with someone he really cared about when he was 21 because she said he wasn't ready to grow up. Within about 2 years he was a homeowner and had two paid off vehicles. He met his wife around age 24 or 25. You sound like you're doing okay!

I remember my first apartment after college. My dad was threatening with paying rent for months while I had just started a new job, and one evening I came home and he started in on me, and I told him he didn't have to worry because I would be moving that weekend. Suddenly, he and my Mom were all teary-eyed and worried. Mom made me promise to bring my laundry and have dinner on Wednesday and make it to the lake house at least one weekend a month. It was so cute. I was very proud of myself. I I'm lived alone ever since.

Ok. So ONCE again, as I've said SO many times on other channels, not sure how I got here but SO EXCITED I did!! I want to add just a little of my story, not that it matters but since I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their story, I want to tell mine. I'm a 50+ year old momma raising an almost 18 year old son, in a small southeast Kansas town. I've been at the same job, our local hospital, for 33 years. After going thru the most traumatic event of my life, a divorce, I had a lot of emotions to deal with. I felt like a failure, I felt sad, I would be angry one minute, use alcohol to numb, then guilt that ended with me crying my eyes out. Exhausting!! Our son was 5 at the time and so here I was, on my own financially raising our son. At that time I made decisions to cut out things that were not necessary to thrive. Television being one. It was then that I discovered youtube. And I can honestly say, my life has NEVER been the same! When I had tv I always loved reality shows till I realized they were far from reality. What did channels like yours allowed me to do?? Glad you asked! I have seen more of the world, learned how to do just about any repair on anything, have been able to connect, not physically like in person, but virtual that touches my soul and mind. I've heard some great stories. I've laughed out loud and cried pretty intensely, all the while never meeting you, the creators in person. Is there things in my life that I wish were different? Do I wish I had gotten the chance to do more, see more? The answer is yes but i am learning to be content with where you are and always be excited for those who may be living your dreams. So back to how or why I ended up on your channel??!!! Your living your best life while still trying to figure that out and taking the time to share it with us. And for channels like that? I am SOO thankful!! Keep doing what you do as long as you enjoy it and know there are people ALL over the world living vicariously thru your eyes. Even momma's in Kansas!!

One of the things my dad told me when we bought our first home: "Let the home come to you." Meaning: Don't feel rushed to do/fix/improve all the things. Live there for a while and just make notes of things to do while living there. Enjoy your moment. Congrats 👏🎉
