I'm so glad you're making vids on the x308 XJR! The plastic parts are the issue with this car, I've gone through two valve covers a radiator, lines, hood levers and latches, valley hoses... You have to be extra gentle when working on it. But it's by far the best car you can get for the money if you DIY.

The XJR is such an incredible car, I’ve really been enjoying it! Thanks for the tip about the plastic parts I’ll make sure to replace them next and keep an eye on other plastic components. More XJR content coming soon!

I loved these cars ever since I drove one new. Good to know you can get a nice one cheap.

Good for you man. I just bought a 1996 XJR with 48,000 miles on it! Paid a bit more than you paid , but I wanted the 6 cylinder. It's an automatic, but I'm swapping the transmission for a 5 speed Getrag manual.

Congrats on the XJR! With such low miles, it’s practically a brand new Jag, definitely worth it! A manual XJR sounds awesome I can only imagine how much fun it’ll be to drive.

Wow that's in incredible condition for that kind of mileage. I keep looking at these but I have 2 x V12 jags already hahah.

Yooo! Hats off to you! I really admire anyone who works on the V12 engines. I personally stay away from them, but it's awesome you got two.

I still like the Series lll but this new one is NICE.

The Series III is my favorite style for sure, but the XJR is just so much fun to drive with that V8 supercharger!
@senatorchinchilla53892 күн бұрын
How do you like working on the V8 vs the straight 6? I find the straight 6 is a huge pain for some stuff.
@XJJesseКүн бұрын
Surprisingly, the V8 has been easy to work on so far. The most annoying thing about the inline-6 is definitely the octopus lower coolant hose and the throttle body those are such a pain to deal with!

This one is really nice, but I like the tractor-like inline 6! Have a great 2025!
@XJJesseКүн бұрын
The inline 6 definitely has its charm so smooth and reliable. Wishing you a fantastic 2025 as well!

I agree! these Jags are beautiful, and I love this body style. They do have a bad reputation for being unreliable but this one was such a great deal, and the previous owner had already invested a lot into it. So far, It's been a great jag and I've been enjoying it. I can’t wait to make more videos!

Damn man, i mean i prefer the pre facelift, but i would have took the deal in a sec
@XJJesseКүн бұрын
The pre facelift is also much more durable from the exterior trims and plastic interior but I had to jump on that deal!

Every Jaguar is a money pit. You may be able to escape falling into the pit, but it will surely as night follows day empty the wallet of the next owner.
@XJJesseКүн бұрын
That’s so true, you have to take your time finding a good one, and maintenance is the key to owning a reliable Jaguar. Look for one with service records or a seller who knows their car really well. If you get a good one, is worth it for the experience!
