Freddie, we purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee new 10 years ago. It now has 118,000 miles. Nothing has gone wrong in 10 years of ownership, just tires, brakes and fluid changes. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. It has the 3.6 V6 like yours and the ZF 8 speed transmission. We live in the state of Wisconsin here in the USA and get a lot of snow. They salt the roads every time it snows. Despite this there is no rust on the Jeep. We love it, good look with your new Wrangler!!

Freddie, a top tip from the US. From a guy who's serviced plenty of those V6 engines. Replace both the PCV valve and vaccuum purge valve as fairly regular maintenance. Say every 20,000 miles. They are cheap and you can do it yourself. Decent engine if you take care of it. Common issues I've seen are throttle intermittently failing. And sometimes thr Ignition coils fail. Easy enough and cheap to replace. Side effects of all those issues is engine hunting. If its a clogged PCV or purge valve....the engine will hunt but not misfire. And finally be careful if you change the oil yourself, the housing for the oil filter is plastic. Do not over tighten. Enjoy! -Jules

I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 3.6lt V6 petrol (2 door)and really love it, especially how it rears up if you put your foot down on the 280bhp and is so capable off road. The front bumper in UK spec sticks out somewhat, but is perfect for sitting-on to change your boots. However, fuel economy is about 20mpg and Road Tax is the highest at £630! I agree though that it feels like an adventure every time I leave the house. Don’t forget to give the Jeep wave.

Cheers from 🇺🇸. I never considered owning a Wrangler until a buddy of mine wanted to look at property in Tennessee. We met in Nashville where we rented a Wrangler similar to yours and headed off to southeast Tennessee. Every morning we would remove the roof panels and head off on mainly backroads to explore what Tennessee had to offer. As motorcycle enthusiasts we were blown away, every road we traveled was filled with curves and nice pavement to match, a motorcyclist paradise. We never even hit the “dragon” or Cherohala Skyway as it was closed. Nevertheless, the Wranglers open air capability provided two cycle heads with a sense of what Tennessee and all her curves has to offer. Great choice mate!

Had two JK Rubicon’s (U.S.) & loved them, just an FYI the rubber knobs are to support the windshield when it’s folded down. The ring on the hood you mentioned before is for a bug bra to go protect the grille and part of the hood from road debris, goes up and over the hood and latches on that ring. I never used one though, all the doors can be removed even if you have the electronic window package, disconnect the connectors by the door and lift up on the doors, takes a bit of doing the first time you remove them if the door hinges weren’t lubed properly. Once they’re removed I used a generous amount of grease and after that they popped right off, super easy, always makes for a fun a ride with the doors off. Jeep mods are addicting Freddie, forewarned, my wife loved & hated it 😂

Oh Freddie, I love you man. As a Jeep owner I got to tell ya Jeep stands for just empty each pocket. lol you’ll find out. The 3.6 vvt motor in your Jeep is the same as the one in my Dodge Challenger. I think you’re confused about the 3.6 going 400k miles, you might be thinking about the 258 straight 6 motor. The one your dad had and the one I drive every day. Mine is a 1996 with 262k on it now. My daughter has a 2000 wrangler with the same motor with 174k. Those motors are indestructible. Your motor maybe not. Jk’s are not as good as the old TJ’s and your dad’s XJ. Keep that Fiat. You’re gonna have to learn about jeeps. The thing on the hood is for strapping the windshield down. Yes the windshield folds down. You don’t know it yet, but you’ve just entered a new world. If you find a little rubber duck on it one day. You know you’ve made it. Jeep people are like Harley people. We are everywhere, and if you have questions we can help. When something mechanical happens be ready to hear “oh that’s just a Jeep thing “ you’ll find out. Remember a bonnet= hood, a wing=fender,a boot=trunk🇺🇸 lol I know one thing Freddie, you are the best dressed Jeep owner I’ve ever seen👍😜

Please don’t say this! I’ve justified in my mind that they’re built to last forever!!

@@FreddieDobbsin my experience, they are a PITA to own and maintain, but full of character !

I'm sure it will be fine. If the fiat 500 can do 230000 miles, then this could do half a million!

I’ve owned two Wranglers, 2dr, inline 6, a 97 and a 2003. Both were unbelievably reliable, easy to maintain, and fun. I still own the 03 as my only vehicle other than my Guzzi. My daughter had one like you bought, but traded it for the pickup version.

With the changeable English weather, I hope that lid goes back on quicker than it came off. Happy motoring.

I live in Scotland and never remove the roof on my Wrangler - way too risky!

Nice one Freddie, and Monika seems to approve of the removable roof 😀, and she's right, Clyde is a good name for it.

I do remember you checking out a Jeep awhile ago when you went to the Harley Showroom and if I am not mistaken it rained that day. Glad you have finally taken the plunge and got what you always wanted. It looks in good nick, so hoping to see some footage of away days for you and Monica. Enjoy! 👍🙂
