Had my white 2013 Discovery 4 HSE for about 6 weeks now. What a thing! I can’t believe how well it handles for a car if it size. Myself and my wife use it as a camper. The rear load space allows us both to sleep conformation next to one another with a memory foam folding mattress. We use the side rear cubbies as bed side tables and put all camping stuff or baggage in the front seat area and footwells at night. It’s all self contained and all we have to do is flip the mattress back in the morning, move the stuff back to the rear and off we go. Takes 2 minutes. We bought a Yeti Roadie, a cadac stove, jackery 240 for power and cuttlery/crockery. It’s brilliant!! Enjoy and look forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks for the comment, and thanks for subscribing! I agree - the versatility is one reason why I chose the Disco. There are other reasons too, but that’s a topic for another video. Great to hear that you’ve found simple solutions for your setup. I’m keen to keep mine light as well; but I have a suspicion that once I start modifying it… 😏 Please share your progress and ideas!

@@TheMightyOutdoors absolutely I will and best of luck with the channel! My idea was to be able to go places without it looking overly ‘overlander’ but I’m sure that may change over time. I wanted everything to be removable to it can be the personality that needed for that particular day haha, luxury express, van, people carrier, compact camper, or b road rally car! Makes a perfect compliment to my M3 and I adore it. It’s the golden retriever of cars. I look forward to the updates!

Is there much 4x4 in japan?

I haven’t seen a lot of what you’d consider 4x4 / overlanding in Japan. There are some fantastic looking vehicles driving around, but I’ve seen very few being used to their full potential.
