In some markets (including the US), the LR4 (called the Discovery 4 outside the US) comes with that engine, but without the supercharger, as a factory/OEM option.

From SA, we did the same swap aproximately 7 yeras ago, we just took everything from a RR sport and built into a D4, including all the special features in the sport, adaptive cruise control adaptive suspension etc. It became a RRsport with D4 body. Has been an absolute pleasure. Best towing vehicle I have ever owned, tows up to 5 metric tons comfortably, only complains when the adaptive cruise control has to break when doing 80 mph and coming up to a 50 MPH vehicle. Screams 'DRIVER INTERVENTION REQUIRED!'(visually).

I’ve got a 2021 SVR but I had a 2012 LR4 and I loved it. I had this thought and I’m so happy someone did it. Would just make sure to update the coolant pipes that like to let go. Love this swap!!

That engine works for sure because in South Africa, maybe UK too you could buy the pre face lift LR4 or as we know it the Discovery 4 with the 5.0 V8 NA. Same engine that was in the Range Rover’s

Amazing, completely crazy lr4 and I love it)) Probably it needs acive swaybars from 1 gen RR sport to be more fun onroad. Both cars have pretty much the same platform (frame) so it should fit

Awesome. I have done a couple of stuff similar. Am in Europe. I have a discovery 4 2014 3.0sdv6 with a sdv8 swap 4.4 off a l322 2012 twin turbo v8 diesel. Pretty torquey and I have a landrover shop in Africa that has a discovery 3 2.7D 2008😮 rigged up with a 3.6tdv8 off a l320 2008 sports. Both pretty lethal.

My discovery 4 is a 8 speed and the discovery 3 is a 6 speed stock off the l320 with l320 brake caliper and disc. Exhaust off the l320 but extended with 9 inches pipe. Am on a lr4 6x6 pickup with tesla model 3 dual motor stuff.

The v6sc has serious coolant overheating issues. I recommend most people with the v6sc should do the v8 sc swap. G63 has no chance. The jeep, the x6m , the cayenne turbos would've big headache.

I love the concept it’s real but as an owner of a D4 5.0 litre V8 with an exhaust modification the car is superb just hold your foot to the floor and drive! Yes a supercharger on top would be fantastic but really I will lose my license anyway! Just like my Harley 114 fantastic if you hold the throttle to the stop! Bolt on more bits and get more! Fantastic But really I don’t need to! Both items came from the factory with heaps of power! I love what this video shows ❤

2012 Range Rover is the year they had problems with the timing chain. Were all the problems solved with the chain? What is the service interval of the timing chain replacement? How big a job is it?

It was more a problem with the plastic chain guides, than the chain itself. They were changed to metal and I heard that sorted the issue.

The most powerful tune I’ve seen for the AJ133 V8 is 640 hp. That includes top and bottom new pulleys. Not sure how they got another 60 hp out of it.

30mpg on a LR 5.0 SC at 695hp.. usually sc/turbo motors get their power from pushing thro more fuel/air. My 4cyl GTI gets terrible mileage on the track.

Interesting a v8 petrol with the newer gearbox I think I heard you started with a v6 with broken engine, would the swap work with a rhd v8 with the older 6 speed box? Did Japan or South Africa or Australia get the v6 petrol disco/lr4 with the rotary dial gearbox??

pretty small. You can't fit larger tires on this platform w/o a fair bit of trimming. I'd guess those are 265/60-19. I run a 34" tire on my LR3 but it's really not ideal. Some people have managed to fit a 35, but despite what you may hear it's a bad idea. You cannot fit that without significant rubbing issues but more than that you just loose the gearing because there are no options for better ratios. Again, you'll hear people argue more power makes up for that but clearly they've never actually wheeled or they would know power is for show, gears are for go.

Bad engine choice, my buddy had a RR with that engine. It blew two on them in 10K before they refunded him the purchase price under 🍋 laws. Shitbox engines, LS it.
