Tracy's Whirlnswirls were the first quilting videos I watched when I got my longarm and I was hooked through her 4 sets of 100 designs in a hundred days. My husband and I set up my longarm (not APQS) when we moved to Hawaii. The manual was exact and easy to follow; it looks like your yours was too. I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary and watching you assemble your Millie. Thank you for sharing!

Teehee!! Thanks for the laugh Emma. I only have made two quilts, and a couple more quilt tops, but boy, I sure would love to have a longarm machine too. Yet taking a class and renting time on someone else's machine is likely the smart next step, just as Karen mentions. After all, we don't buy ourselves a car until after years of being a passenger, then taking lessons, then passing a test, and then driving our parents' car for awhile, right? Only difference is, we don't have to assemble it after we buy it. ;-)

Welcome! I laughed out loud for quilt #3. The tension dial! Dum dum dum! We all have to hitch up and "get over it" to get on with tension. What I want to know is when you put your 2nd or 3rd needle in backwards! Yeah, it's gonna happen. Have a ball on your new toy!

Hi Karen. Love your videos, you have given me so many great ideas. Owning your own longarm is a game changer! Like you I was off to the races about 5 minutes after I set mine up lol. And like you, then came the dreaded "fix the tension" time. I belong to several quilting FB groups and on one of them a member talked about her experience with tension problems and how she solved them by watching Jamie Wallan's KZbin video. Well I watched it and did exactly what he said and voila! tension problem fixed. I love our quilting community. Someone always has an answer or idea to help with a problem. Cheers on this snowy cold day in Erin, Ontario.
