Watching old videos, so happy for your good news. I understand the waiting is difficult. We are in the middle of it with my husband. Recently we found out he has cancer. I have been enjoying your videos and have learned so much. I have made 22 quilts from baby to kings. Ive helpped with several with the quilt group and helpped my sister with a few of hers. I have two in process. All but two of them since 2017. Thank you so much!

My husband just got that wonderful news that he too is cancer free . He has to go though immunotherapy now for a year. That is his maintaince which raises his chances of never getting cancer back ! Praise the Lord ! It's still rough for him like chemo it makes him sick to his stomach for 3-5 days but once it's done we can plan out our retirement and get back to a normal life. As I type this he's retiring on Tuesday the 15th of September after 40 years as an aircraft mechanic for a major airlines. Now we can do our thing when we want ! We are also going to celebrate our 50th anniversary this fall too . I am just so grateful for you and your family to have this same joy. The hugs and kisses are the best when you get this kind of news.Never take a day for granted enjoy life with family as we are too !!!!!

Karen you have brought tears to my eyes telling about your cancer journey. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Non Hodgekins lymphoma in 2014. I know all the agony of chemo therapy and waiting for results.I am so glad you got such great news. I also at the same time had a cracked vertebra. I had back surgery as soon as my chemo was over. I now go for yearly check ups which Covid got in the way of. I am taking extra care to stay safe. Other than that I am very healthy. I wanted to write encouragement to you but I didn't know where to do that. I will be celebrating my 22 birthday on Sat. I am praying for a Covid vaccine soon so I can fly out west to visit my 2 granddaughters {age 3 & 16 months}. My sewing room has been my happy place during Covid. I love your tutorials. I wish your son all of the health and happiness for years to come. Thanks. Stay safe and healthy.

I haappened upon this video this evening while nursing my sister post op at her little bungalow. Your path with your son and his cancer make me so beyond happy and I pray that he continues to find good health and meaning post cancer. My daughter, a mother of four beautiful boys now, was diagnosed ten years ago with cancer at the age of 32 and at the time given a 13% survival rate. God is merciful to us both. We all have been gifted more time to love one another. Thank you so much for boldly sharing with all of us your journey. Sincerely, Aleta McGee in Oregon

We went through the scenario during Covid with our eldest son who’d just celebrated his 40th birthday. He was diagnosed with Bone cancer, a rare Sarcoma in three quarters of his leg. Chemo followed, then the waiting game. I too sewed but I have to say I have never made so many mistakes in my life. 🤭 I should have made a crumb quilt! It would have been perfect. My son is continuing to recuperate and learning to live with a very different leg and I’m getting my quilting back on track. 🙂 Thank you for keeping my mind occupied during such a stressful and heart breaking time. I wish you and your son many more years of happiness and success. 🇨🇦

Your mask videos and the lively mind behind them were my first introduction to you; I now watch your quilt videos even though I don't quilt. I'm on year 15 of my "bonus round" after completing treatments for colorectal cancer in my mid-fifties. No one gave me a hopeful prognosis yet here I am...it has been fifteen years of one-day-at-a-time and I'm writing to say that a "seize the day" approach from this point forward will be a rewarding way to live for all members of your family. Enjoy each day you have: it's all anyone can really count on. Best wishes.

Dear Karen, I cried when you revealed the wonderful news on your son's results. My dearest bestest friend's daughter has thymoma cancer - inoperable as it's located in her chest cavity between her heart and lung,; she received 25 radiotherapy treatments as this form of cancer doesn't respond to chemo. At the six month review CT scan the tumour hadn't grown any bigger - a good result. However her next 6-month review scan should have been done last January but, due to COVID-19, this was postponed and she is still waiting and now it's September. Good bless all of you, I know the toll waiting takes. Thank you for your wonderful videos. As we say here in Ireland, you're a powerful woman 💖 Much love to everyone.
