Thanks for sharing that short little comment on your son's progress. We all saw in previous Vlogs that something was hanging very heavy over your head, so the explanation, and letting us into your life, has explained a great deal. It seems your old self is coming back. Can't wait until we see you again next month. You are infectious ... that's personality wise. Hopefully during the month you will learn to turn the iron on.

Brings back memories for me. The tote bag was the first project in my 4-H class, OMG, 50 years ago, lol. We made them them and we had to model them to our parents and judges. We had to make a totebag. Scarf, and back then, it was called a popover top.

I am a 5 year cancer survivor. GO CAMERON! Just tell him to get plenty of rest. This is a time to take care of yourself. The fatigue is very real. I did make a large quilt for my sister during this time. Sewing/quilting is wonderful therapy in itself. Dive into it as much as you need to during this time. It isn't just a hobby or a job, it is so much more. It is a blessing.

Dear Karen🌻 ~ just discovered your you tube about a week ago ... one night when I was unable to sleep 😳😳😳 watched 10+ of your videos, lol. I’ve been sewing self taught for years, have never made a quilt yet, but hope to start soon. I love all your valuable hints & instructions, love your DIY Ironing board, I love building things, tomboy at 💜. Thank you for your videos. I have decided as my first quilt to do the Ugly quilt, I love it, love the idea. When I get to travel in our RV, I try to stop at 1-2 Quilt shops in the places we go, nothing like wandering around so much beauty & inspirational projects, sewing heaven here on earth. Peaceful, my happy place. The good thing is we use a motorcycle to get around the towns, so limits the temtations to buy a lot of fabrics. That is a good thing !!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Karen, I just want you to know that today, I noticed in the comments that your son Cameron has cancer, I am a former Pediatric Oncology nurse 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺 &, the years that I’ve worked in this field of nursing was like no other, it is an honor to take care of patients. The patients & the families were inspiring & each one is etched on my heart ♥️ forever. The medical team that are on the battleground of curing cancer are the very best, my hope for your son is complete healing & health, I will keep your family in my prayers, and the medical team that surrounds your family too. Remember to breath, remember to accept all the support you are offered right now, receive gracefully, this is your families time to be cared for ... ~ 💜Jilly

Attitude attitude attitude for your son. And prayers. I've been there twice. The last cancer and chemo was awful. Lots worse than the 1st one. I went to get my 3 month CT scan today and one of the techs stopped in to ask how I am. She mentioned how I always have such a good attitude. I don't always but I try. Attitude. It makes all the difference in the treatment. Hugs to you too. I know it must be hard on your end too.

Will do My first version will have to be Scrappy, I'm not buying fabric till my birthday in June! I haven't bought any since beginning of November. This is really hard! Actually, Scrappy probably won't be too accurate. But it will be from what I have on hand, that's why I'm not buying fabric right now.

I’m so sorry to hear that your son has cancer. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer about 2 years ago, but I’m doing okay so far. I had radiation initially and now I get chemo every other week. Anyway, I hope your son’s chemo is effective and the side effects are minimal. Cancer is a scary roller coaster, but you’re not alone. 💙

Thank you so very much. I have learned more from you than I have from anyone in 20 yrs. You are so joyful and funny and have taught me so much. Your terminology video was hysterical. I crochet too and we have WIP. "Works In Progress." I have too many. UGH. And tons of list with my fabric of ideas. I've been wanting to make a quilt with Lions and Birds - An African Theme. I'm on my 4th bed. That is how long I have had the idea. UGH. I have chronic health conditions so my energy ebbs & flows. More ebbing than flowing. I saw you were quilting block by block. If you have a video for this on how to put the blocks together after they are quilted, please let me know. Thank you for the info on trimming triangles at tips. (Masks were getting sucked into plate...if I had only known.) :/ And the fabric to avoid tangles on back, thread getting tangled on the front...the extra fabric to go from 2 pieces to 4 or 4 to 8. Wow. It would have helped so much pre-mask making. But I know now. Your the best. Well...I have more isolation binge-watching to do, yes...YES, YOURS. I subbed, the bell is on. Your the best. BTW, I just learned about your son. I'm so glad he is there with you. I will keep you both in my prayers. (I hope that is ok and not offensive to you.) BTW, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Shelly

Hi everyone! I found this channel around 2 weeks ago and love it. I’m getting back into quilting and am getting ready to quilt an already sandwiched stack I guess it’s a UFO that’s been sitting for 2 years. I’m also going to be sandwiching and quilting my partners tops that were finished over 5 years ago that have been siting in the stack. I’m part of the generation who learns everything on KZbin where I learned 9 years ago and I’m now returning. Love this channel and community! Stay safe and stay kind everyone! Xx

So nice to watch quilting videos made by a Canadian! And you're in Toronto, to boot (not a-bowt LOL) -- my home turf from 1970 through 1988. Today I _should_ be sewing buttons on more scrub caps for ICU nurses and medical Front-liners, but instead I've watched at least half a quilter's dozen of your videos and vlogs. :) What a treasure trove of ideas, tips, and tricks!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. (Y) I've been wondering if you would please outline your process for preparing cotton fabric for quilting use - from bringing it home from the shop through pre-wash stage and especially any tips for _pressing_ and / or _ironing_ all those metres and yards of material that we all purchase for making these gorgeous and very special quilts. If there's already a video of yours on that subject, kindly help me find the link to it so I can get started with the very best way to prep, even before beginning to make cuts. Cheers from Vancouver Island! :D

Very best wishes to Cameron. Great progress on the oldest UFO! And I love making drawstring bags. They are fantastic for wrapping birthday and Christmas presents. It takes takes more time to write the tag than to open the bag, drop the gift inside, and then close it again. It also means there's considerably less wrapping paper to dispose of when gifts have been opened.

Love starting my day off watching your videos. You are one of my favorite quilting channels. Informative and fun to watch. Especially when the iron isn't on. Loved your video on how to do 8 at a time blocks. I have a block in mind to use these. Thanks for the free magazine. I love the refreshing patterns compared to traditional blocks I see in other magazines. God bless from Virginia.

I loved this video, thank you. Okay I enjoy all your videos. I want to try to make one of those bags...you know, as soon as I finish the 4 wall hanging and 3 table runners and who knows how many other UFOs I have. Lol. Sorry your son needs surgery and hope he is better soon. Hugs (from a safe distance of at least 1,000 miles) and prayers for you and your son.

Holy cow! You've been on a rampage! Your whole demeanor is more cheerful....makes the craziness seem a little less! I'm still cleaning my basement/sewing area/craft room and, thank heavens! Goodwill is taking donations again so the pile I made on the other side of the room can finally leave the house! Then I will get some of my UFOs done, too!

So glad to start my day off with your smile and enthusiasm. I may tag this video for watching every rainy day. I have been working on UFO baby size quilts Since they were made of ugly 5” squares I got to choose cute kids fabric for the back. Originally not meant for babies but looking pretty good all finished. Still hoping and praying for your son and the rest of the family.

Your ideas are so helpful for me! I especially love the afterquilt, and Mary's triangles in 8! Have also been trying to organize my tiny quilting area as finally I am within 12 quilts of being done with the 70 I began making back in 2015. My wonderful mom left 3 boxes of scraps, fabrics, and orphan block when she went home to Glory in 2001. One day in 2014, I saw a tutorial on Missouri Star Quilt Co site and I was hooked and knew what to do with them! So I planned our who to make quilts for in our family and have been making them ever since. At least 14 per year along with fabric purses, hotpads , pillowcases, and dresses for Granddaughter. Your color lessons help tremendously as I am finally using the reds, yellows, and oranges and pinks in them and it looks okay! Those colors I don't like working with (except reds in veterans quilts). Love dark blue, purple and green, black and browns the most. May many blessing flow your way!
