It might be white spot.. Could be even a fin rot.. And that's one of the important thing in fish keeping.. U need to quarantine ur new fish.. Don't add them directly to ur main pond or else it will trully kill all ur fish in that tank.. U nvr know how dirty the water these farm has..

Bobby goonch catfish need a lot of flow in their tanks or ponds that they are put into. Also more quarantine tanks! 0:12

That tigrinus catfish up in the top corner of the tank could well be showing signs that its stressed out. You should aqua scape the tank with some dark coloured substrate, rock caves, driftwood and some plants. The Plecos actually eat the driftwood. Do regular water changes and monitor the water quality making sure you have the correct PH for the fish in the tank. You've invested some big money in that tank so utmost care for the fish should be your first consideration. Leaving them in a bare tank like that is not good for them. I'd also make sure you have a quarantine tank or two in the fish room so you can medicate fish if needs be. Especially since you catch a lot of fish in the wild.

One things for sure, keeping fish in bare tanks especially catfish is none to good for their health. As for the ponds I never understood the point of the black mystery pond. Throw in a fish and never see it again until you decide to drain it only stressing the fish out even more. And it amazes me the African cichlids in the cichlid pond survive. I don't know his water parameters but I'm guessing that waters PH is on the acidic and soft side. Africans need hard alkaline water to thrive. Why he doesn't put shell grit or crushed coral on the bottom of the pond has me puzzled. Its well and good keeping all these fish but if you don't look after them properly you're not doing the fish any favours.

Here in Bangladesh, they used to be common in mountain streams and rivers but their population is almost gone now due to overfishing and mainly pollution. As they need fast-flowing, cold, and highly oxygenated water to thrive. But they can still be found in remote mountain rivers. And I've been trying to hook a big one for years but the biggest one I caught was 17" long and around 2.5 kg (5.12 pounds). My grandpa used to tell me stories of them swallowing young children whole and biting people in the thighs while swimming.

Unfortunately, people are probably poaching the small ones when they catch them and selling them to greedy Americans who then turn around and farm them to sell in pet shops. These poor fish are fine examples of that. Hopefully, this kid will learn the best most sustainable ways of purchasing fish, that is if he doesn't die of a disease he catches from a sewer first. That's just disgusting.

​@@mydogmyplantsandme No, not really, the Goonch catfish (Bagarious yearilli) is not illegal to catch, and neither are they endangered. And I've never heard of anyone poaching them even the fishermen will just throw them back in the river because the small ones don't have much meat on them and they don't taste that good either. The only people who really target them are recreational fishermen like myself who enjoy the challenge of hooking a difficult fish. And I've released all of the ones I've caught. Also it doesn't make sense to catch and then transport them live (they also tend to die rather easily when kept in a plastic bag) from high mountain streams only acceptable by foot. Plus, they'll never make it past airport security if they are illegal. I appreciate your concern for conservation and cases poaching does occur from time to time but absolutely not the case with this species. Thanks for the read, have a good day!

I just looked up the local laws and there are seasonal bans (in the monsoon season when thy breed) on many rivers and fish sanctuaries that are off-limits to the public. But it is legal to catch them on private property and nonprotected national parks. The steams I fish belong to local tribes so technically it's private property. And they don't seem to find us fishing there.

This same catfish called nga-ren in our local dialect in manipur (a northeastern state in India).It was like 2 weeks ago my father and his friend bought it from a fish market,though it was dead it was like 48 kg and 5.6 feet in length,my father also told me that there was another same fish weighing 89kg and 6.4-7feet in length and I was surprised to hear that it was from river.BTW it's a very good video keep it up
