i was looking at 2.5 190d a while back belong to a cousin of mine who doesnt know we're related, theres a lot of patchy rust, back doors are presumably rusted shut etc. its actually the same colour as this one and has the bronze trim across the roof and windows only it also has chrome wheel arches. rough estimate i got from people who know the car was €300, he also has a brand new spoiler so the price is more like €500. he asked for €1500 and wont budge on the price. he text me after a while saying he had another offer and i told him he can do what it likes cause hes asking too much, fast forward a year and its still sitting in his yard and he has a rusting 1991 e220/e230 parked further up the housing estate

Oh man. Now you have got me. A few years ago, i bought a w201 with the 2,3 machine. And i began to restore it. It was full of rust. And in the meantime my son was born. With the down syndrome. And yesterday i was nearly about to quit restoring this cool Mercedes. And then you told me not ro quit. And maybe its the best thing i can do. Because my son loves this old car. 😀 So i will keep on welding! 👍

I'm rocking a well maintanied 190E 2.0 in Denmark, and its been my daily for 3 years now. Before that I had a 190E 2.6 for 2 years, and I still have it, and are about to swap the engine and drivetrain, together with the airride i bourght for the 2.6. Legendary car! As a mercedes owner myself i can assure you this isnt gonna be your only one. i really want to get a w124 at some point. Ive owned 3 mercedes now, my first one being a 1977 mercedes 300d that i traded a 1985 toyota van for, second being a parts car and third ended up being a 82 300sd that i got running and driving for 700usd. unfortunately i wrecked my 300d so that's why i bought my 300sd. cant wait to see how this build turns out.

I bought a BMW E28 which seemed to have some rust. When started working on it i saw that the rust was worst than expected and spent lots of hours cutting welding and painting. It didnt worth the money paid. That unit seems to have same problem as mine. If i would have known all the work it needed probably i would have rejected it. Good luck with yours.

Im from Stuttgart and not even here you can find a 190 that cheap anymore. A few years ago everybody wanted to get rid of their diesels because of new city regulations. Was the best time to buy back then

The evo2 has larger front wheel wells to fit the bigger brakes, wheels, tyres + the lower suspension. If you are going to fix the rusty front wheel well you may as well make it bigger to accommodate things down the track.

You have to cut the inner Fender anyway. You can‘t go that low with the Stock ones.

I could also Show you a 190E Evo 2 Replika on 17 Inch that is already lowered but Looks strange in the front. Because it uses the Stock inner fender. The Evo 2 wheel arch is slightly higher than the Stock one.

i have a 190e, they all rust in the same spots, yours probably needs all 4 jacking points and sils welded, rear subframe mounts welded and front inner arches welded. Thats a lot of work to get done in 6 months, not including everything else. good luck lol
