I have one just like it in my cellar. I am actually shopping to upgrade it. I got mine at least 30 years ago, my father found it at an auction place and it hadn't sold. The QC tool post is a must. Watch the handles, the large one on my carriage fell apart from the zamac rotting.

I think this will make a great little lathe once it's cleaned up. Thanks for watching my friend.

@@DaveGatton It isn't a Logan or South Bend but it works well for light cuts in aluminum and delrin.

Dave I love old machinery when it was made in the USA. I have a floor model drill press made in the 50's. and it still works great. Sears made some good stuff back in the day..Looking forward to seeing it make something.

Thanks for watching Larry. Those old made in the USA machines are the best. I'm really happy to have this one and I'm keeping an eye out for one of the old Craftsman/Atlas 12" lathes. 😃

You lathe predates 1971 & was made right here in the USA in Michigan. The lathe was sold in Canada & and the reason it predates 1971 is due to Simpsons-Sears (located on ID plate) wasn't used on tools after 1971. Also, it mostlikely wasn't made by Atlas either. I'm guessing you have a piece that bears the Atlas name. If so, it's from another older lathe. Atlas went out of business prior to 1950, and most things they made had more of an art deco vibe to the design. The name was used later on, but the original company went out of business in the 50s. If I had to guess, your version is an early 60s model by King-Seeley. The Craftsman plate on the front of yours isn't rounded as the one on that latest ad you found from the 70s. Notice the Craftsman label is almost oval on the ad & the feet on lathe are slightly different as well. If I'm right, King-Seeley wouldn't have made it after 1964~1965 when they were purchased outright. If you want to impress your friends, tell them it was made on 03/18/1963. Is it true, no, but when they inevitably look it up, you'll both know it wasn't manufactured on a Friday. 🤣🤣🤣

How much would one of these in really good condition with everything it originally came with and more go for roughly? Any help would be greatly appreciated

That's a difficult question to answer. I have seen prices all over the place depending on the part of the country there in.
