You definitely got a deal! I love my ‘00. Runs like a clock no matter what Scotty Kilmore says. A lot of parts are shared with the Frontier. The knock sensor isn’t worth fixing unless you relocate it.

Try tightening the valve cover screws, they loosen over time. I would try to figure out the evap leak before swapping the knock sensor, from what I understand evap leaks can cause knock sensor codes from rough running.

I bought an 04 three years ago for $1500. Loved it, but it just went crazy one day after two years of use. Would idle but died when running. Cat codes, knock sensor, etc. Cost to fix was more than I paid, so I sold it.

I bought one for 500 also, its mint! a 2004 for 277,000 miles one owner everything works except reverse, inside is like brand new !ac works i repainted all the plastics and detailer the inside looks beautifull but now im pulling the transmission now oh my fucking god what a job! you have to pull the torsion bars the transfer case and these bolts are tight as fuck! I have a 2001 with only 130,000, best vehicle ive ever owned but NOT easy to work on at all

Late comment here, but that tiny metal pipe between the throttle body and the distributor leads nowhere (there's nothing attached to the other end).
