A video of how the car's doing after a good clean and detailing would not be unwelcome! Gotta see how that paint and leather shines after all the dust's gone.

Not stock sounding exhaust, but stock tips. Therefore perhaps Fister mod or Gundo hack on the stock mufflers. Great buy if the engine is healthy. A lot more can go wrong besides IMSB.

I absolutely Love my OCT '98 built '99 year model 911 996 Carrera. 50 K on the clock with LN IMS and many new components. Outstanding car. I do love my old 1980 911 Carrera SC. But the '99 has COLD A/C !!! I live in the south I'm 72 and I need Cold A/C..
@kunalbhanot993410 ай бұрын
Nice buy! The ticking is a concern…most people think it’s lifters but I’ve been burned by bore scoring….sounded just like yours…if the exhaust tips have unequal carbon or it’s burning oil, probably a good idea to bore scope. Good luck!
@frankieieie10 ай бұрын
these 996 generations of engines is not common have bore scoring, 997 engines were really common but i wouldn't be that concerned...

I got a free 996 C2 manual because the owner died while the car was disassembled. He took it apart to replace the IMS, unnecessary since it was a dual row and in perfect condition. For some reason he stopped working on it after getting the old one out and the car sat about 10 years. I put it back together and have been driving it for just over a year with no issues.

Get the oil, change and filter change done, and make the beast sing, let’s hear that exhaust going to see if it’s Stock or special; give us that short part two of the video, let’s hear it sing! Love hearing these videos, I’m blind so love to hear The gorgeous sounds that these Porsches can make

Literally bought another 986 cause it was cheap, had a hardtop, sport seats, and aero kit too. You inspired me to do a “free boxster” project of my own
@georgetown898610 ай бұрын
The hardtop alone has a decent value. They are rare and actually look sharp on the 996. The exhaust looks factory and sounds factory. Does it show PSE as an option? PSE is rare on all 911s.

My jump box and many others have a button for when the battery is below the minimum required for electrical connection. Push that button and the connection is made and you can get power to the battery. I plug mine into the cigarette lighter or the OBDII port and let the battery be able to open my frunk, then put on a charger to the battery and charge it to full, then start the engine.

During covid they had an incentive for some tax write offs on cars that were donated not sure on how much but it was well over the value of them and these older porsches people took advantage of the higher write off vs the sale value and paying taxes on the car. The cars then sit for 3-4 months before they are auctioned so thats why the batteries often die and then JR garage takes advantage of the auction companies not wanting to deal with it. What a steal of a car for 8k!

I have a pretty rare 95 3000 gt sl spyder value $16,000-$26,000. So in the middle would be $21,000. I had it 7 years and put 4,000 miles on it, always garaged. I’d trade you for the White 911. My car value can only go up, this one really won’t. A win win. What do you say young man. Mind you I just have a valve job since the timing belt went, $4,500 later, damn.

Hey guys. I have backed powered a light socket in cars to power up the fuse box and basically powers up most switches. Like, just pop a tail light out, apply power to the feed wires, and other things will come alive in the car if that makes sense

04:38 That makes no sense. The MANUAL CABLE locks when the battery dies?? Of course not! It is a manual cable. You pull that lever and it opens. You were so close, you pretended to pull it several times without actually pulling it. If you did, it would open.
