Loved working on this 430 with you Sam, such a great project. That fire damage that would put most buyers off was a fairly simple fix. This doesn’t mean you can now buy whistling diesels F8 Ferrari and expecting me to work magic on it 😉😉😉

Well to be honest, the work wasn't complex but it is the knowledge you require which makes it possible. Knowing about the pumps being flawed, knowing where to get sensibly priced replacement parts, where to get the wiring loom etc.

The biggest upshot of owning a salvage Ferrari is you could put miles on it without worrying too much about the resale value. This looks like a car you should just enjoy and drive once it's finished.

Until it burns to the ground again. How many more Ferrari / Lambo fire vids until this shit gets called out? A 20 year old used Ford/Merc/Nissan/whatever will never catch fire. But a 6 digit piece of Italian thrash shows up on KZbin burned out. What a joke.

Hi Sam, I’ve been watching you for a long time. I have to say I’m really proud of you on this one. Yes I agree with you. I would’ve totally done the same thing. You bought your dream car. at half the cost. You also learned a lot on the way. That alone is always a great thing. I’m a car fanatic as well, so maybe I’m not the voice of reason, but you’re lifetime dreams are something that you can’t put a price on. I also think that the rebuild BMW that you auctioned off for charity was a wonderful thing you did. It’s good that you have surrounded yourself with some great people who are there for you. I I hope you’re still married after that Lincoln snafu, but nothing ventured nothing gained. Again I would’ve done the same thing. I think you and I are cut from the same cloth! Regards from Tampa. I was thinking, "This is an amazing video but it's absolutely beyond stupid you didn't replace the fuel tank..." And then the last few seconds played. Yep, I was right. More money than brains.

You would have thought Ferrari would have recalled every car that had the bad plastic fuel pump top knowing that a lot of them caught fire

Let's get real, the only reason why this project is feasible for you is because you have a bunch of YT influencer friends willing to do top notch work because it's going to be advertised on YT. If any of us regular Joe's wanted the same service, it would cost 100% more and still wouldn't be as detailed and top notch as the service you got because you have the "buddy privileges" club card.

or you would just research and do it all yourself. It would take longer then 12 days but everything here is doable

i think Ferrari will be very very proud of your work. it's all about pride in this special special type of work. thanks for the whole team is this fine art project. it's not so much the car as the special pride of everyone involved. so, what Ferrari has meant you have added a very special chapter. again i hope the Ferrari factory workers see this and clap. it's just " crazy " art man. the commentary on the video was very well paced, informative and succinct.

Question: Benzin Fires burn with ~ 600 Celsius. Aluminium (the frame is made of Al) is melting at 660 Celsius. It gets soft /workable around 400 C How can you make sure, that the Frame is still in tact / does not break there? Could you check this somehow?

Fascinating project. I was wondering about the valve covers, a very visible element, that seemed to have had the paint bubble up from the heat, that is, if they were repainted.
