Having the right speed for asbestos is important in order to fling as many particles as possible into your lungs.

There was a DoAll saw I used to run that had the asbestos speed AND beryllium speed listed.

Exactly. My thoughts as well.

That is a ‘Zephr’ model. On the high side of the transmission you can turn the blade upside down and friction cut steel. Especially helpful for cutting hardened materials.
@johndillon28Ай бұрын
The blade welder is something that I never expected to be as useful as it is. Buying bulk blade and being able to cut to lemgth is a massive money saver. Also in a pinch being able to weld a blade back together is very very nice. You can use a automotive style hand held spot welder but those are more cumbersome.
@UKBUILTАй бұрын
🤔 Nice tip
@DocsMachineShopАй бұрын
The big trick to a blade welder is that you can cut the blade, loop it through a closed hole, and weld it back together. That way, you can cut out an opening in a plate or part, without having to have a gap somewhere to let the blade through.

make sure the stand is up to scruff.. had an industrial bandsaw fall on me, mangling up my left arm.. got 80% severed arm out of there (took some time getting machine off me and arm out). managed to stop the bleed with a belt before calling for a helicopter, then everything got a bit foggy.. they gave me blood and i survived after a little heart attack. fyi, still have my left arm.. and i can still use it, but i got to focus for any precise motor function, often send my cups of coffee flying across the room.. sensation is all gone, great gooning arm so there is always a silver lining. let this be a lesson in what not to do.. or to do if the "stranger" method isn't working for your chronically single asses.

Put my mind at ease seeing you and Superfast Matt make videos about building and rebuilding the workshop. I feel like spend most of my time building the stuff to build the part. I’ve been trying to get into composite manufacturing because it was low cost of entry. Low cost but high time of entry!

My dad was a machinist, and it was amazing the number of things he made just using a bandsaw. The cuts don't look as clean, but for quick and dirty shop tools you can't beat how fast you can crank things out with a bandsaw.

I was hoping Wesley would avoid the compromise of modernization and power this distinguished classic with a steam engine. That, and the requisite coal hopper, would fit the mystique he's been achieving with retro car builds. Eventually, may he fulfill the dream of building a steam locomotive from scratch. /s I dig this channel since the very beginning. This band saw vid just perfectly matches the excellent work Wesley has demonstrated in all his videos. Whoever employs this rare character is one lucky business.
