That's my review on the Thai Con at 2:05; it's absolutely enormous and just pushed out a huge mature leaf with sectoral variegation and galaxy speckling. 100% recommend Tropical Plants UK. I was worried about putting down £50 for an online purchase but was really impressed with what I got!

Tips from someone with a Thai: •preferably put in a very chunky mix, chunkier than the sybotanica aroid mix to prevent rot. (The mother plant of Thai constellation had root rot making all the other Thai constellations susceptible to rot. •they don’t like wet feet.

That's definitely a real beauty! Via Amazon last autumn I bought a few smallish houseplants (from Perfect Plants in Sussex, I couldn't get out). Normal monstera, rubber plant and asparagus fern. All wonderfully healthy still growing strong for a good price, glad I took the risk. :)

Two weeks ago we were at a comedy show hosted by one of the local churches and right in the entrance hall were two decent sized monstera. When we left I found one of the staff and asked if I could take a cutting. They were so sweet to let me have one. I got one small enough to not hurt the profile of the plant, but big enough I've got three cuttings to propagate!

I just bought a pair of euphorbia lactea at a decent price from Amazon. Someone else said they had received some but they were only 3” tall…okay. So I took a chance. Mine came a bit dry, 7-8” tall, pink and branching at the top, and well rooted. You never know. They are trying to compete!! I am immensely pleased. Planted now and happily growing.

Enjoying to content.Keep up the good work. Here in the US we had a grower release at grocery stores. Thai Cons for $30, very young plants. Repotted as soon as I got home, the soil was terrible. I bought 3, I have two in soil and one in leca. All are thriving now.

I know availability varies from country to country. In the US, Thai Cons are everywhere now. Still pricey but if you know where to look, you can get good deals. I see them at farmer's markets, on Facebook plant trade/sell groups, and even at regular nursery shops. So if you're trying to find other options for buying a Thai Con, availability and pricing is improving.

I live in Tokyo, and bought plants from amazon several time which didn't have a review because nurseries are so expensive, but thank God my plants are gorgeous and got nice pots with them. Maybe place with more sun will help new leaves more variegated? I do that to all my variegated plants to prevent them turning green.

Very nice plant! I also wish that seller was in the U.S. Looking at that large stem, I remember from watching a video on sport variegation that the guy recommended propping the stem against the rim of the pot or even a small chunk of wood, as that tricks the plant into thinking it’s growing against a tree, thus causing it to put out more fenestrated leaves faster. 🤯

I've gotten all 37 of my plants off amazon. I only had 1 issue where I got the wrong plant and 1 issue of a plant dying but that was my fault. I tried to order 1 more plant before the cold hit in mid October. I missed my window and it just got to cold in shipment. I would and will keep getting my plants off amazon. Why not? they come in healthy and they're very well priced for the most part.

I'm very impressed; you got a great deal. I work part time at a friend's greenhouse in Florida. They bought five of them from a supermarket for $60 US each. They gave me a two node cutting with a small areal root and I put it into Semi-hydro. The size of your plant, the roots, and the number of leaves, was well worth the price. I have an Albo which I have rooted in the same way. Excited to see my Ti grow.

Ironically, my first plant was a Thai constellation monstera from Bunnings. I paid AU$249 (about 135 GBP) and he came with 5 big leaves full of constellation and some with large fenestrations. It was also my first attempt at putting a plant in LECA which although has been a huge success, caused me to age by 20 years at the time (your nightmare bed scene was “funny cos its true”). Im now a proud plant dad to over 50 LECA plants, all thriving in my soil-free home. Love your work! Thanks for the humour.

I'm glad ordering a plant from Amazon worked for you! Your videos are so entertaining. I order things from Amazon frequently, and seldom habe any complaints, but when I ordered a plant from them several years ago, got one that was all cuttings with no roots! It died quickly, so noe I only buy plants locally, mostly from Trader Joe's which has great prices on healthy plants. Nothing rare, though, and when you go in you dont know what you'll find, which is typical of Trader Joes. My store is near the Canadian border, so it's an international destination!

When I moved into my flat two years ago it looked bare, so I bought a pack of 4 and a pack of 6 house plants on Amazon, I got ten in case some died. They arrived in good condition all had been watered and were well protected, quite pleased with that. I repotted all of them over the next week in larger pots and still have them all, they are growing and thriving. I did see your video about spider plants and that you should not leave them in a full sun window, I have. It is now over 5ft from top to bottom and healthy, I have not cut it back or taken any young plants from it as I have nowhere to put them. I have 5 shoots out and flowering already this year, I give it 1 litre of water every two or three days in winter and a litre a day in summer, it is big and bulky.

Sounds like a nice spider plant! My big mama has 3 baby's on it and flowering now too, not as big as yours but I was wondering if it's normal to have to water every few days. The roots are just huge, and I just reported! From the sound of it, I guess that's kind of normal for a big spider plant.

@@jessh9988 I took 4 plants from it three days ago, one of my neighbours said hers had died and she was not prepared to pay 6 quid for one at the local florist, so I snipped 4 off the main plant and potted them. I saw her today and showed her the main plant, she was amazed at the size of it. I have a floor to ceiling window 4 ft 6 wide and 6ft high, the plant is 5ft 6 top to bottom and 2ft wide which is a mass of young plants, it looks solid. So yes, it does need a lot of water. It does need repotting, but, that is impossible as it will mean cutting the hanging rope, I'll just leave it as it is and if it starts to die pot the 60 or 70 plants on it and pot them.

I wouldn't personally buy a TC or an albo online without at least seeing the exact cutting on a photo first. There seems to be a market flood of these very poorly variegated Thais now, hence the affordable price. It's quite big, but it seems to have been raised in extremely light deprived conditions, judging by: 1. Huge internodal spacing for a tc 2. Very long petials with unproportinaly small leaves 3. Very low variegation. If that is fine with you then I guess it's all that matters anyway. Thanks for the video and good luck with your new plant!

I'm not sure how growing a ponytail palm from seed would be, but I'm trying it out. I ordered from Amazon. I was looking for other seeds afterwards. I saw reviews that not one person had seems that sprouted. No reviews on the ponytail palm. I guess I just wait. After soaking them for 12 hours, I plated them yesterday. I received 5 seeds. Hopefully, they'll sprout

I call a cutting a piece that has not been planted in any potting soil yet. I have ordered plants from venders on the US Amazon but you have to watch out not to have them shipped while there is still frost in your area some are growers who ship when you ask , then send them North where you let the freeze on your step.

Great plant Mr. Sheffield! I like it and i was also ver, surprised how big and healthy that thing is. What a steal! 🙂 I bought myself an ordinary monstera deliciosa yesterday. It has 3 MASSIV plants in it, with really nice fenestrations. I bought it for 15,99€ in my local hardware store. When referring to white variegation in monstera one usually means an albo. Thai cons have cream variegaton. But theres so many different variegated monstera out there you really have to specify. A white monsters, a mint and an aurea are also variegated monstera, but they are way more expensive than an albo or a thai con (obviously you can find a ridiculous price for those as well). If possible support smaller businesses instead of Amazon! I bought a thai con cutting last year (was 40€) and it was 3 >30cm leafes. It was extremely well rooted in moss, like the entire 17cm pot was full of roots. I put my cutting in pon, because I noticed it didn't like the chunky mix I gave it (my other monstera likes it though). But the most interesting thing is that the shop I ordered it from had a 3.7 stars rating. Everything was totally fine and a actually quiet like that shop, reviews aren't that reliable.
