i Bought a Traxxas Xmaxx and Broke it Instantly!

Good video quality. I know the feeling. Back in May of this year, I bought the XMaxx just before the hobby store closed for the day. When I got home I charged up the batteries, double checked the mesh, set the ESC to training mode, so I could get a feel for the XMaxx, and in less than 3 minutes, both the pinion and spur stripped. Zero jumps. Just driving it around the backyard getting a feel for it. Since hobby store was closed, the only other pinion and spur I had were the included 17T pinion and 46T spur. Installed those, changed the motor pins to E, checked the mesh. This lasted less than 60 seconds. However, this time only the pinion stripped. I know I should have let the loctite set for 24 hours, but still. Lesson learned on my part. I now only use machined hardened instead of *powder* gears. I now have three XMaxxes, (one ultimate, one with belted sledgehammer, one with non-sledgehammer tires) each with a different set-ups for different type of running. Takes a little bit of learning curve, but once you get the feel for the XMaxx, there is no stopping the fun. At least for me anyways. You are only limited by your imagination. You actually got a really good deal on a used XMaxx from the looks of it. Most used RC's I have seen require some major cleanup, and maintenance before running. I may be mistaken, but it looks like you may have been using the brakes a little too hard, especially coming out of some of the jumps. Rocks will definitely mess up a steering servo. Good thing about bashing with an XMaxx is the replacement parts are not expensive at all; especially compared to Arrma. Both XMaxx and Kraton's are good RC's. However, each have their own unique way to drive. Just look at EarlMoorhead driving his Xmaxx's vs RC Guy Garage. XMaxx and RC Guy Garage simply don't like each other - *LoL*

Finally got me an xmaxx a few months ago. Been wanting one for years but never decided to pull the trigger. Besides some gear issues right off the bat its been a great truck! Ive had many rc trucks but nothing like the Xmaxx! Its a beast!

It's just a rock stuck in the servo. The Xrt, Emax minni max and max slash all have the same dumb problem rocks in Severo's.

@@SBgaming791 already ordered a perfect pass servo anyway just to have the extra torque

@@BrandyBoy13 You'll need to add some sort of spacer on the servo saver spring to actually stiffen it up. I used a bit of welding rod that I shaped into a ring and it did a good job of stiffening up the servo. If you have the right size washer, you could put a few in there as well.

Get used to the breakage, gear strippings, torque twisting, and losing hex screws, you name it, it WILL go wrong. You drank the cool-aid kid. Wait until a drive shaft blows up, and the spur gears lmao.
