Just did the rear sliding door window on my vivaro after some cockwomble broke into it. Used 80% tint window with slider opening from Camper Glass. Bit of a pig getting the original mastic off but with a bit of patience and a hot air gun it was easy enough. Got yourself a bargain there!

Breaking in and vandalizing vans seems to be a big thing in the UK. Here in germany those cases seem to be less frequent and less violent. Never knew there is CoPart UK, it wont have the same nice cars in it as the US counterpart but if the deals are good it could be worth it. Dont know where you can pickup insurance writeoffs here in germany and with all the restrictions its much harder to get a destroyed car back on the road...

Vandalism of vehicles for no gain isn't particularly high in the UK. Theft of vehicles is rising due to the relay method which originated in Germany.

@@eastwood978 i think the biggest cause of vehicle theft in the uk is the pathetic image of police and how most have no backbone or no ability to smash the living day lights out of anyone who is caught, then when they are CAUGHT they get a lesser sentence by crying police brutality and negligence. also the public has no backbone just look at us slavering over brexit for 4 years, sorry thats my 2 cents.

Steve, I had one of these Van's on hire. The hole in the back left door near the handle looks like it's for a lock to go in. It's not, someone drilled that into mine and you can stick your finger in, move a latch and it unlocks. The hire company said it needs a full new door! If your going to repair that hole I recommend adding extra to that area as I see loads of these Van's with the same hole drilled onit!

Cheapest fix is to put 2 more windows in rear quaters and doors saves you getting it filled and painted

True but on most vans only the front 2 side windows are actually cut out the rear 2 on the quarter are just bonded to the panel so you don’t have to cut nothing out the just like a stud window it’s more for looks that’s what most people do on Campervan’s

id say dont bother buying anything on auction its just too much of a gamble unless you can test beforehand but then it still doesnt mean it will sell for a bargain price for you. thing with this van is its going to take man hours to fix unless he dumps it into a garage and have them repair the lot, but still hes going to be like a hundred and more likely couple thousand pound into repair, then mot'ing, then taxing its going to be an 8 grand van. thats my opinion.

@@adamcross8612 You are talking shite - they are very reliable vans and very popular here in Scotland and most other places and that is why Renault makes and sells more vans in Europe than all of the other manufacturers combined with the Vauxhall/Opel, Nissan and FIAT vans all just being rebadged Renault Trafics and the bigger Vauxhall/Opel and Nissan vans being rebadged Renault Masters and the Mercedes Citan just being a rebadged Renault Kangoo with different grill and dashboard that stupid people pay more money for. Thomas Nagy the electrician on here had a Renault Trafic that had done over 300,000 very reliable miles - driving around London as well with NO gear box problems - so he has replaced that with two brand new Renault Trafics. We have used Renault Kangoo and Clio vans for a very long time and they have been excellent and very reliable vans so much so I bought a 2008 Renault Kangoo 1.5 DCi Expression car version last of the original Kangoos which has also been an excellent and very reliable as well.

I don't get why cars that are pretty new just get written of with a little damage... the van is worth 8-9k so why not spend 1k on repairing it... Surely the insurance companies are just doing this to keep premiums up for everyone.

Insurance base costs on all genuine parts down to every last detail. You add up every little part at dealer prices and factor on courtesy cars etc the price stacks up. For instance Renault wanted 479 plus vat for each rear window. 2 pieces of glass without fitting and your well past your 1k estimate. But I got the glass for 69 plus vat.
