I think these type of deals are interesting if you can get the same bike but with the opposite issues. If you could find one with engine issues and manage to perform a transplant then you could save alot. But it's 90% timing and patience finding deals like this when they come around and have to be something which you can take an educated good chance on it.

I've seen exactly this damage plenty before on track and on the road. He was going quick in a corner and low sided. The bike slid along the bitumen, then onto the dirt, then oggyknob dug in and flipped it over, bending the forks and breaking the subframe on the way back down as it cartwheeled.

The wear on the side is pretty impressive. Looks like it had some speed while it slid. Which begs the question wether the front and read impact happened before or after sliding. If the bike slid off to somewhere the fork and frame damage could have happened afterwards. Nonetheless im intrigued to see how the steering head looks if the forks are bent that heavily

wonderful for my OCD to see someone use two ramps to wheel a bike off single handed avoiding the chances of dropping the bike when you have the hight diffence jumping of the tailgate the slipping sideways of the front wheel highlighted plan as much as you like it can still go wrong in a blink of the eye luckily slip under control now imagine dealing with that slip with a single ramp

There are oilers for motorcycle chains like the cobrra nemo 2 that use gearbox or even chainsaw oil for lubrication. It is perfectly find and in my experienace the chains last longer. If you ride in the rain though the oil tends get flung off more than compared to grease.

I have a crashed Kawasaki ZZR1100 (ZX-11), but I crashed it myself, lol. Apart from the obvious damage, the radiator sheared off it's mounting causing it to leak. I didn't know and drove without cooling 1000km in two days in hot weather. It overheated time after time and eventually it began to make a new rattling noise. I then discovered the sheared radiator, replaced it and went on the road again, with cooling liquid. Next the head gasket blew, so I had to replace that too and then the fresh oil and cooling had to be replaced. I'm still not done yet. Give yourself a pair of working gloves by the way, it's much safer. Very interesting video.

I’ve always wanted to go almost 200 miles an hour on a superbike that probably has cracks and loose bolts and something bent or a bike that had been laying on its side and dragged onto a tow truck. I’m sure everything that was laying in the oil pan stayed right in the bottom of that pan.

When a motorcycle has a major accident, as in this case, you should have the frame checked. It could be bent or even worse have micro cracks both not visible to the naked eye. If you care about your life or that of the next owner do things right pls. (Personal experience throwing my bike a month ago hahaha)
@yveslegrand98262 ай бұрын
Nice project ! But if you want to make this kind of job, you'll need a proper workshop, tool set and a real bike lifting table... It could also be an cheap option to turn it into a track bike... or some kind of a street fighter, cofee racer or something not really genuinly Honda but fitting you design taste !
@LazySatyr2 ай бұрын
Oh boy... First of all mate i wish you the best of luck, you make some choices in these rebuild videos i never would and i love that. Now that said i think you may have bitten off more then you wanna be chewing here. Even if that motor turns over (fingers crossed for you bud) that kinda damage to the sub frame and swing arm AND forks puts a lot of force through the frame, even if it's not bent (big if) the metal is effected and won't have the flex and rigidity characteristics it was designed to, which will effect the handling. Breaking even on resale is a stretch, it might have a "clean" title but any one who's considering it now knows it's history. Which Btw, is probably more that one crash. Now if you made this your street bike and went full track on the R1 i could understand the reasoning, but after everything you did to make the R1 street legal i don't think thats the plan eh? But i will be here for every video!
