I think it was probably fake and the seller was trying to do a private transaction off eBay, in which case you'd have been screwed. I wouldn't believe a seller who said they have had it authenticated on their own and it came back authentic.

Winnie, going to give you some tough love. You don’t even like Kelly bags, you have said over and over how user un-friendly they are. You will not really use a bag that hard to get in and out of. You have Hermes garden party bags already and don’t really use them, though they have the Hermes beater look you are going for. If the bag didn’t say Hermes, you wouldn’t even want it. Get a good used Ainefeel or Italian copy of a Kelly and I guarantee you will use it twice and move on. For the price of a Hermes bag, you can buy a cow, a field to feed it, and someone to skin the cow for you and turn it into a bag. Hope this helps!

My friend found a Birkin 35, vert de Gris, Togo, palladium hardware, from a seller found on Vestiaire, who she contacted directly, as it was a professional seller, with company name disclosed. She got it for only $6.400, when bringing it to our local Hermes store for a spa treatment, to freshen up the color on the corners, our usual SA was so impressed, with the condition and price, the the SA told my friend to buy one for our SA next time making such a find, so never give up!

It's an "eh" for me. I have an almost 40 year old Kelly Sellier - gold with gold hardware. It's a beautiful bag but I don't carry it much. I also *had* an Birkin HAC gold. I found it was difficult to carry (handles are small) and when I traveled with it recently to San Fran on a business trip, I was so paranoid about carrying it. I actually listed it while in the hotel to Fashionphile and sold it for about $1500 less than I paid for it. I do occasionally look for deals but I feel like I just don't need that in my life. My husband wants to retire and at almost 53, I would like to do that in a couple of years as well. We want to leave the US and move somewhere where our money will stretch farther and medical costs aren't as expensive. So when I think of that next chapter in my life, I don't feel spending thousands on a bag anymore is worth it.

But in reality, in my every day life of working from home in shorts and a tshirt, busting out my Kelly doesn’t make heads turn or really make me feel any different than my Neverfull. I will say that one of the best bags I bought is my vintage 33 Evelyne. It doesn’t have the adjustable strap or back pocket, so I bought some extenders off Amazon. I carry that bag everywhere. It clings to my body and holds so much. It’s incredibly comfortable as a crossbody (and I’m big chested) and so easy to get in and out of. It’s my favorite and most used bag ever. Plus it’s casual and fits my lifestyle in FL much better. Highly recommend if you are wanting an Hermes bag.

Coach has become more popular in the past three years because of two things. The first thing is they changed up their brand to attract a younger demographic, as before they were the age 40 plus. And the second reason is they are not crazy money.

And the leather is generally high quality. Not as good as before,( the older bags were sometimes box leather unlined) but still comparatively very good. I just bought some Coach sneakers in the monogram. The C is so large and close together you don't really notice it. And I got some fluffy slides in deep pink shearling very cute and it has ...memory foam!. Heaven! All from the Outlet shop.

I am happy you changed your mind. I wanted that handbag at one point, too, but I am happy I never got it . I have so many handbags now because I'm a collector, too. As I get older, I am starting to lose interest in buying high dollar bags . I am now buying coach bags now, and I love them. It took me to turn 58 years old to realize why I would pay so much for a handbag. So don't have any regrets.I think you made a good choice.

I sold a pair of 42 Louboutin’s on eBay that were rejected by the authenticator due to my listing having false information. Which my listing did NOT. I know Louboutin sizing, so I wrote the proper conversion of a Louboutin 42 which apparently didn’t match the conversion chart the authenticator liked. So they rejected it on “incorrect sizing” The buyer ended up still taking them after I proved they were indeed a 42. My point being “who knows”.

The bag has been painted fully and a really bad paint job. They tried to get away with this by claiming it was “ painted “ by an artist and not some Joe Schmo who did a horrible job. A painted bag is almost worthless. It will end up dried and cracked.

So the outcome was both good and sad. You can do more research and watch more videos to make sure which size and color you want. In my opinion the Kelly bag is too fussy to get in and out of (I don't own one) and the Birkin is more of a tote when you keep the flap open. But of course they are both highly sought after bags ! Good luck.

The ultra low price for a supposed Hermès Kelly is a red flag. But a red huge Kelly you will not use much anyway, IMO you do not want a high structured bag like that, even a Kelly retourné would be better because the lines are softer. It's important to dress for your size and shape...and lifestyle. Because you won't wear it if it's not compatible with those. What you love is the dopamine hit from making a find the actual bag once you get it is an anticlimax. Just IMO no offence intended just an observation...

Idk I have sold my high end bags on eBay and they rejected it due to the most smallest thing like dust being in my bag however they always tell the other person that it’s authentic at least is what they tell me because all my bags are so it seems a little shady that it may have been fake especially at that price point.. I would just save up even if it takes a while and I know it’s really hard if you really want the bag but all that means is that particular bag wasn’t meant for you there’s another bag that is waiting for you out there! 🤍
