If I’m not mistaken, you need the startup motor for the Indy car that gets the oil temps and other fluids up to a certain temperature before it can start and then that same motor will turn the Indy engine over to run.

Man, i remember this guy. The Stradman. James. In 2015-2016 ,when he had around 20-30K subscribers, he made a poll for his followers to choose the very first supercar that he would own. I can remember cars like the R35 GTR or the Aston V8 Vantage being on it, and the winner was the 1st gen Gallardo. The two levers on the left side of the cockpit are for the front and rear roll bar adjusters. If that particular car was Cosworth Ford powered, you might be able to find the parts to run it. If it was one of the Toyota powered cars, you likely can't get it running without spending six figures. If you could even get the parts and ECU.

WARNING! That engine may require preheating. It might not even turn over before you circulate warm water to bring the block up to temperature. If you try without doing so you might damage it so look in to if this is necessary. Some cars could be designed this way..

Dude when i was a kid my dads friend asked me if i wanted an indy car. I said yeah not knowing what it was. He brought me an indy car! It was only the shell. No engine, no suspension, and no wheels. It was the coolest thing ever. I remember begging my dad to lets build it but that never came to fruition. I don't know what happened to it but i wish we kept it because his wife and him meant so much to me. Their son was like an uncle to me i loved that guy so much. I remember driving to work a few years ago and seeing cops all along the route i went past and didn't think of anything. A few hours later a childhood friend texted me to to tell me met that guy that night and he was telling my friend how much he loved me and was proud of me. He was hit that morning by a drunk driver while on his motorcycle in front of my childhood neighborhood. Broke my heart. Year later after his funeral and cruising the old hood i seen his dad at his house closing it up for the sale and seeing him depressed i wanted to stop and talk but he pulled away. A huge regret because a few months later he and his wife were murdered by his crazy older son. This destroyed me pretty bad i loved this ppl and a few nights later driving pas the old hood the cops had it all closed because crazy son came up to kill the drunk drover that killed his brother and the cops killed him at the neighborhood bar. Wild i drove past that. Sorry for the long story but man I really loved that indy car spent many years in it as a child I just had to share. Rip Jerry and billy boyes and one leg Greg Boyes thank you for an amazing childhood. Greg would do me dirty tell me as a kid that he lost his leg down by the lake and go look for it and I would look forever.

IndyCar fuel is an invisible flame. Re-fueling is done under the strictest of conditions. Pit crews (all of them) keep a huge drum of water in the pit lane at all times in case of fire (which they cannot see).

Because of the packaging of IndyCar's and F1 Cars, your best bet would be either a 13B or 20B rotary. smaller block means more space for the accessories and intake/exhaust. along with the fact that with a dry sump system, the flywheel should clear the floor pan.

Kinda hard to find solid info on this car's engine, but for anyone curious, it's the TRD-developed Toyota RV8D, a single-turbo DOHC 2.65L 90 degree V8 with four valves per cylinder. While I can't find any meaningful specs for this specific car, the engine was also used in the Eagle 987 which raced in the same series that same year. The RV8D in the 987 reportedly made 800hp at 14,600rpm and was mated to a transversely mounted 6 speed sequential transmission.
