Personally I’d hold onto the car. You may have paid him for his services but I’m sure there was some sort of discount because you’re family and he built it the best it could be so that you would enjoy it. He has a passion for JDM cars it seems and I’m sure he was overjoyed when you told him you were interested in getting this one fixed up. I feel like it wouldn’t be the best for you to then go ahead and sell it like any of your other used cars. Just my opinion though

I think you should keep to have something that you can share with your brother. I think he would feel really good knowing his brother is developing a love for these JDM legends. I also think its a very good looking car and suits you pretty well. And they may end up being worth more long term, the market for thede just keeps going up especially as GTRs become less available.

Craig, You should be very proud of all you're accomplishing; professionally, personally and spiritually. I'm so glad to see you figuring out some of the tough stuff that we as guys often fall prey to. I'm in a similar business but with vintage motorcycles. I deal with the public, work hard to sell motorcycles I can stand behind and have more than one repeat customer. I think I have it much easier than you as my business is smaller, I don't have a family to support and motorcycles are more niche oriented and focused on an enthusiast community. You mentioned an interaction with an older gentleman you had around a decade ago. When I was 15 and had just entered the workforce, I had the opportunity to work with a bunch of older Hispanic guys. I'll never forget the day I was pouring my first sidewalk, learning everything about the job from A to B. I was struggling away, one step up and two steps back, when a couple of my coworkers called me aside. "Hey Hombre! You're new at this and we're in a hurry. You need to slow down." Perhaps one of the first Zen moments that life offered me, (there have been countless others in the last 50+ years.) I still find the source as remarkable as the lesson offered. In regards to putting it in a container, definitely not recommended due to the extreme humidity that builds up in them. Ive seen cars literally rot away them in New England due to the humidity. At worst, best bet is to put a breathable cover over it and leave it in the drive way.
