When he said ‘The axles are a bit wobbly under load’… can you explain that a bit more. I have an identical CL9, and if i floor it on an onramp i’ll get a tiny bit of wobble at high speed (say over 100). Or if im using an offramp and gradually brake to zero… i get a little bit of wobble as well. I had the disks machined, and it kinda fixed it… but not fully. I know i might be explaining two different problems, but the subtle wobble under braking is more the first thing I wanna fix. Would u go new front rotors?
@davebk10312 күн бұрын
@@benny9075 I would expect rotors & pads are the best shot at fixing the vibration under braking. And I think they are two different issues. My son's Accord Euro has bad wobbles from about 95kmh during hard acceleration. We are usually too busy gloriously down shifting to hit the brakes hard, but I have not noticed any brake vibration.

_😎 Cool video dude, gotta ask about the driveshafts though. Are they OEM 🤔 the reason I ask is a couple of years ago I had to replace mine in the S/C Civic but made the big mistake of buying aftermarket. While they improved the initial vibration under acceleration around 80-100kph the issue wasn’t resolved. I then went on to replace the control arm bushes and wheel bearings but still the vibes were there 🫨 It wasn’t until a visit to my tuner who said OEM’s were the solution if you think about it logically. Aftermarket versions were $200AUD a pair, they probably cost less than $40 to make in China, whereas the $850AUD OEM’s out of Japan are better made for a reason. He was 💯 right, issue fixed_

I'm starting to see more cheap Tsx over in the states. Specifically the 06-08 auto ones. They're usually higher mileage around 170k+ miles for $3500-5500USD decent condition. My 06 is at 198k, 5 yrs time flies. 6 spds are of course a little more pricey even with 200k miles. These are superb daily cars. Sadly most people get rid of theirs thinking it's done at 200k because of worn parts. Of course! They're freaken 200,000 miles on original parts man. I'm glad I cop mines right before covid and decent shape. I see some around not in good shape as mines. Theres not much to restore in mines. Just basic 200k mile service like timing tensioner and the infamous vtc actuator. Not expensive, got myself easily another 200-300k mile car 😊.

I know you've already rejected it but think twice: buying some neglected cl9, and tuning it into a road legal race car, like to show us what are the farest limits of tuning that car. you already know what you need to do about engine and. transmission. Even putting that already tuned turbo k24 with 1k horsepower would be amazing it would be cool to see a difference between k20 and normal fuel pump, and what would I love to see the most: how would it look and drive with awd swap. I know its a lot of job... but as you see a lot of CL9 lovers are here, and making it in several episodes would be more interesting.
@KiwiCarLifeКүн бұрын
It’s just not worth it financially. Already built an accord, see no need to do it again. Plus race cars are awful to drive on the road. It would just sit around while I use my Skoda for all the travelling I do and then get used maybe twice a year on track. I’d rather just buy an already fast car that’s still decent on the road

What's considered high mileage in NZ? Here in Canada, ~230,000 KM's would still be considered medium mileage or so. I'd say 250,000 - 300,000K's is really where people start to consider it "high mileage" (for ordinary cars, not extraordinarily rare ones). But I guess North American standards are different since we put so much miles on our cars haha
@RobBanks-q1z2 күн бұрын
300km would be high fora Honda. People are scared of 200kms

@@KiwiCarLife It's insanity because 200,000km is 124k miles, which in the states is considered barely broken in. I exaggerate but it's silly that people in NZ go off the number 'looking big' rather than what it actually represents.
