I love my 2025 Accord EXL hybrid. I did pay extra for a spare tire that fits in the existing trunk wheel well, but other than that minor annoyance it has been a perfect car for short and long road trips. Mileage is exceptional and drivability seems to be dialed in for my everyday needs. I couldn’t be happier. I even like the looks!

I have the exact same Honda Accord, year, color & model & i truly enjoy the car. I don’t think the car looks bad at all. In fact, I’m seeing more & more of them on the road so others seem to think it looks great too. It’s a very easy car to drive and very responsive to the driver and my needs behind the wheel. My only complaints are that it doesn’t have a heated steering wheel. I’m glad the 25 has one but that should’ve been there the moment this current look came out in 2023. And there’s no reason why there isn’t a 360-Camera in this car. Honda screwed up royally not having this in there. Aside from these hiccups, the 2024 Honda Accord is a car I’d definitely recommend & this review confirms why this is a fantastic car to own. Great review!

Does anyone actually use 360 cams? I know someone who has it on their old Infiniti and I've never seen him actually use it. He uses the backup camera and mirrors to back up which seems a lot faster and more practical. I'd rather pay for real luxury than useless gimmicks

Good review - thanks! I have a '24 EX-L and have put on 7k miles on it so far. Getting a consistent 50-52 mpg. Have noticed a slight drop (48 mpg) during cold weather drives where it is around 30 degrees. Overall I love this car... quiet, well made, and very comfortable. I do agree Honda needs to power the passenger seat and a heated steering wheel would be nice!

I bought an accord for the time in 2015, bought new, love it. I still have it and it has over 170,000 miles and I'm hoping for 300,000. I detail it and service it myself. It still looks new and feels new. I can't tell the future but i can see myself getting another accord when ready for a new car.

Did you buy the I4 or V6? If I4 how’s your CVT transmission been like, did you upkeep fluid changes to the T? I have a 17’ with CVT at 70k miles, transmission fluid changed at 50k miles and planning to do every 30k now and it has an ever so slight slip in it for myself, other than that car drives perfectly.

@ramennoodlz I've had no issues with the CVT transmission and have never changed the fluid.. All I've done are spark plugs, breaks, and oil changes. I've never changed the trans fluid on any car and have never had an issue with any transmission. Is that crazy?

My dad had an old 98 Honda accord he never changed the transmission fluid for, the transmission gave out at 250k miles, that gen was notorious for weak transmission though, then he got the ‘17 accord that I got now

Great car as always from Honda. Note that the Touring model in the video comes stock with low profile tires that are considered summer tires. It was mentioned in the video that snow tires were needed for winter driving. I personally would go for the EXL model that comes with 225/50-17 normal size tires and provides better traction in snow and ice. I am extremely happy that Honda provides physical controls instead of putting a flat screen tv in the dashboard.

I got the EX-L for that specific reason of the 17" wheels. That's a better ride, better tire wear, and better mileage. I'm extremely pleased with this car.

I had leased 7 consecutive high-end Accords (V6s, then the marvelous 2 L turbo w/the incredibly smooth 10 speed AT). But in 2023, the Accord became 1 inch too long for my garage, and I ended up switching to the then-hard to get Sport Touring 2023 CRV hybrid. It has the same superb drivetrain as the Accord hybrid, except I have AWD, nice to have outside of Buffalo. It's slowER than the Accord Touring because it weighs 500 lb more and has the AWD, but it's not SLOW. Excellent off-the-line torque and more than adequate passing power. I'm sure the Accord Touring is just as quiet, but the CRV Sport Touring, with its acoustical glass and wheel wells is the quietest Honda I've had...though, like in the Accord, still could use a little more work on road noise on coarse pavement. The cornering is amazingly good for a taller vehicle, and the drivetrain is just as described as in this video review...wonderful. I miss the HUD I had in my last Accord Touring model, but I love that I still have Sirius/XM and the heated steering wheel, along with Nav for the King of Lost. Flaws? No spare, as in the Accord hybrid..slight instrument panel rattle between 60-70 mph...first Honda rattle ever! Sirius/XM drops out more often than in my previous Hondas. Plusses? Seats are at PERFECT height for this old dude's arthritic knees, so getting in and out no longer requires pain. As with all hybrids, mileage drops with colder weather and at interstate speeds. However, in warm weather during the urban cycle, I exceed EPA numbers. Tank averages 37 mpg in mixed driving warm weather, 32 in wintry weather. AWD may not be as good as Subaru's, but it seemed to work fine, especially in snow mode. Bottom line for me: I sat in a new Accord at my dealer's recently, and I have zero remorse about having to switch to the CRV Sport Touring (which I know C & D also included in their newest Ten Best list). The ease of entry and exit simply afford more comfort than in the Accord. Subjectively, in the gorgeous extra-cost brighter blue, it's far more attractive to me than the nice but overly bland new Accord. As large as the CRV is, it fools the eye. At 184" in length, it's 8" shorter than the Accord, yet still has a rather cavernous interior. Same superb ergonomics, too, along with the Bose sound system. I loved my Accords, but I love my CRV Sport Touring hybrid (quieter than the other 2 CRV hybrids) even more. Nice job on the Accord review!

We have a '25 Accord Hybrid Touring and the only real gripe I have with the car was mentioned in this video. The front passenger seat definitely needs a height adjustment. It sits way too low for anyone under 5'10" or so. I'm actually looking to buy a "booster" cushion for that seat. Otherwise, this car is very nice to drive. It's extremely smooth, refined, roomy, economical, comfortable and borderline luxurious. I still wish Honda offered the 2.0T option. Unfortunately, that engine is long gone for the Accord.

His is all about comfort and efficiency and mine is all about being fun to drive. They each excel at their missions. I love my '21 and my dad loves his '25.

The car has a classy design, which will age better. It’s the most spacious mid size sedan. Keeps its value years later. Has great MPG for its size. It’s known to be more reliable compared to others. It’s scored better than any vehicle in crash testing. The Accord is great value.

Certainly some will prioritize safety a bit higher than others though, just as some prioritize fuel economy more, styling or ergonomics/comfort more etc.

i grew up with C&D, reading it in my high school library right thru the 80s. my dad's buddy bought a base accord LX automatic in 1986 for $15K CDN, about $12K USD. 40K USD is a lot for a 1.5L turbo. There is a huge reason why the accord is NO LONGER SELLING. The civic has grown up, and is now large enough to satisfy most buyers. The engine in the Accord isn't any better than the Civic, and the civic comes in more body styles, and comes available with a manual. I have a number of Hondas (past and present) but Honda appears to have lost its way, and the Accord may soon be on its way out. I just bought a 4door 6MT 3.0L V6 Accord 2006 and it's an amazing car.........that I paid $4500CDN for! Given the choice, I would buy the cheaper Civic with 6MT rather than a new Accord. Arguably, the Civic is the better looking car now, also. There is a reason why the Camry is far outselling the Accord.

Pretty much matches my experience after 22k miles in my '23 Touring. 39-40 overall mpg winter & summer, 41-42 spring and fall when Climate Control isn't working hard. Lack of heated steering is a weird ommission but rarely noticed. No 360 camera on the top trim was another miss. Otherwise, no complaints. Superb long distance cruiser. Smooth quiet with excellent climate control. Tech is outstanding with built-in Google. Would be the perfect midsize sedan with aforementioned fixes, AWD & 20-30 more hp/torque 😎 Individual drive set at Sport steering & Eco engine for best overall driving experience, IMO.

I agree 100%. People don’t realize a large part of your suspension is your tires. Everything begins and end there. I’ll age myself here but I miss 14” and 15” wheels. I remember when my wife’s Corolla needed new tires we bought a full set, installed, for $180. That was for all 4. I miss those days. That was probably the most inexpensive car I’ve ever ran. It was reliable, we could fill it up for $10-$15, insurance was cheap, etc

Had a rental accord for a while and honestly I was overall impressed. I kinda miss it and I may even buy one. What I didn’t like is how damn bright the lights are, I was getting flashed by EVERYONE. I do like though that Honda makes it literally impossible to turn the headlights off at night when not in park. The off switch is a temporary switch, and when you let go of the switch it bounces back to auto. The one I had was a non-hybrid and honestly the turbo lag made it kinda fun, that old school 90s turbo kick was always a fun experience. I didn’t like that Honda doesn’t give you a color choice for the pillar and roof material, it’s grey only for all models. The subtlety of the design BEGS for black on black on black on black. Black everything. All of it. Honda won’t let you spec an accord like that, and that bugs me. I also didn’t like that the AC took FOREVER to pump out cold air. That’s not an accord problem though, that’s a 1234YF problem with all modern cars. Otherwise it’s delightful and I LOVE the driver seat adjustments. I can kick the thigh adjustment all the way up and the leave the butt section all the way down and the bolstering feels tight so it makes me feel like I’m in a Recaro bucket, which is a fun gimmick to make me feel like I’m driving a race car lol Love the reviews Carlos, keep em coming!

Honda provided very generous rear seat legroom and then forgot the minor detail that adult passengers need a place to put their head as well. No wonder sedan sales continue to crash when the fundamental principle of passenger accommodation is sacrificed in the self-indulgent pursuit of a sleek and 'swoopy' side profile. In today's market practical people are forced into a CUV whether they want one or not.

Most people are just looking for a nice pleasant experience from their cars. Not every car needs to have "driving excitement", or canyon carving. If that's what you need buy a performance car that is aimed at that. These magazines that insist on everything being tested on the nurburgring is part of why very few cars ride nice or have cushy interiors anymore. Instead we get hard ride, hard seats, high effort steering, etc which imo make a vehicle not very luxurious. I think the Accord strikes a nice balance, even though it leans more to the sporting side and less on luxury.

Until Honda can get a handle on interior noise, I just can’t find myself in the market for one. I’ve had Honda’s before, all of them in the 90s and they were always quietly capable. For the same money, you can get a Camry which feels more like a Lexus in terms of quiet comfort.

MY23 owner here... I love the looks, and many of the features, but the lack of a 360-degree camera (so-called AVM) for a car with such a low belt line was a bad decision by the product planners. Also flawed was the lack of foldable mirrors... in this time and age. However, the driving dynamics are superb, along with the hybrid powertrain that ensures more than 40mpg during non-winter seasons. Worthy of C&D's top 10 awards.

I Still will never understand how Honda does not offer all wheel drive on their flagship Accord sedan?? I would buy one, but living in the Northeast, I like having all wheel drive, Honda/ Acura has such a great SH All Wheel Drive system, they really should offer it on the Accord Sedan. I should not have to go into the pricey luxury Acura line to get a All Wheel Drive sedan. Also, I think they should also offer all wheel drive on the Civic and Odyssey minivan, but not having it available on their flagship large Accord sedan is a huge mistake. Honda not everyone wants to drive a SUV or crossover. Bring All Wheel Drive to the Accord already.

Thanks, Accord is one of a few mid-sized sedans left. I remember just about 10-12 years ago C&D was still doing comparison tests of mid-sized sedans because they still sold the most and had a big share of the market. However, SUV's now dominate, primarily IMO due to their higher seating position, easier to get in and out of, AWD, better on rough, poorly maintained US roads and cargo capacity. One thing I'd like to see is with all these fastback styled sedans, with tiny trunk openings, is the option or adoption of a 5-door hatchback design, like my old 2007 Mazda 6i 5-door. It would help sales IMO, and also the availability of AWD in all sedans. Thanks, and I miss the monthly printed version of the magazine. I was a long time subscriber.

Shame you had to make excuses for the poor lane keep assist. That is a major safety function that a lot of car companies get right, it's not "FORTUNATE" that you can turn it off, it's a shame that you would want to turn it off. Honda needs to get this together but great review otherwise.

I have driven an Accord for three decades. My current EX-L Hybrid is the best yet. My average MPG ranges from 53-57! The drive is silky smooth and the transition between gas engine and battery imperceptible. This bonehead is judging the MPGs based on highway driving. Most people are city drivers and the MPGs go up at least 10%. I bet I could get 50 MPG no problem. The car is way better than this video. Way better.

The engine does not run all the time, and it's subjected to far lighter loads (and more consistent loads) than a traditional vehicle. My 2001 Prius has a 7500-mi oil change interval with conventional oil.

The proportions are off. The hood is too long and the front overhang is also too long. It sits too low and is difficult to get in and out of. I don't like sitting on the floor.

As usual, the answer is: We learned nothing. This is a marketing stunt. There is no established global car brand (least of all Honda) that still puts out models manifesting major faults in under 5 years / 100000 km. It's a consequence of manufacturing processes improvements across the board. The real problems come between years 5-10 and can only be assessed by querying large numbers of owners.

I guess I'm in the minority. I have a 2024 EX-L and it sucks!! 2 re-calls and a steering issue that Honda won't fix. Way too loud at highway speeds and mpg not as advertised. The front passenger seat is like sitting in a hole.

I have Owned Accords for decades, would not consider anything else, but if I would be looking for a new Accord today I would want the ivory interior which is not available, and It irks me that they charge extra for white paint, really? What gives? 60 % of cars on the road are white, I lived in Florida since 1974 and if there one thing that becomes clear the moment you step into a car in the summer here is you need a light color body and interior or you’ll fry alive. Just in that alone you unnecessarily waste fuel with the air conditioning having to work extra . As for body styling, I will stick to my 2016 Accord EXL, I can’t believe they turned a nice conservative car into a soap bar. And one last thing, I hear over and over on reviews is how much they like the styling of the ventilation grill on the dashboard, to me it looks like chicken wire. As for the piano black trim, I don’t find it a problem at all. I polished it for the first time since 2016 when I got the car new, looks as good as new and dust or fingerprints are not a problem, I keep a microfiber cloth at hand , one wipe and it’s fine.

I have owned Hondas for 20 years and my children have purchased Honda vehicles. They used to be a quality vehicle. No longer. My current Honda will be my last. My dealership recommended that I put in a claim for yet another expensive repair due to faulty parts. A Timing Chain for $3,000.00 at 170,000 km. Honda denied my claim without hesitation. I didn’t mind paying a higher price for a quality vehicle, however, current prices and lower quality vehicles have resulted in another lost customer for Honda. I doubt they care. There are better quality vehicles out there at a much more reasonable price. Goodbye Honda.

It depends on city/highway driving and driving style. If you drive it like a hybrid you will get better mpg. The accord doesn’t feel like a hybrid so they don’t drive it like one- therefore worse mpg.

The back seat materials are a huge letdown. The door panels are almost completely hard plastic and don’t match the fronts, which aren’t even that much nicer. If you’re going to build a 4-door vehicle, the doors ought to match. I don’t care that some other crappy brand does this kind of thing. Honda had developed a reputation for being better. Now, Honda does this stuff across the entire lineup. Even in the nicest trims and models, you get the mismatched doors. Honda isn’t what it used to be.
