I Bought Another Mazda RX 7 FC | My New FC3S. Yes, I now have another one. I sold my old RX-7 to buy a new RX-7 that I plan on eventually turning into Ryosuke Takahashi's FC from Initial D (with a lot of work). Who knows, maybe one day this car actually will have a turbocharger in it

That motor has been opened before, curious to know what you find inside. And every rx7 ice owned idle high when you first crank it and will settle at 750 or so.

@@rjewing8 Oh, it definitely has been opened before. It's a S5 keg with S4 manifolds and accessories. It's also not the first time I cranked it. It did idle at about 750, but for some reason now it won't go below 2,800

@@gavinhogberg Mazda designed the FC Rx7 to idle high for emissions (every FC Rx7 has this to my understanding). High idle heated the catalytic converter quicker and thus less emissions. In order to bypass this, place your car into first gear before cranking the vehicle and leave your foot on the clutch. Then start the car and the idle will drop to the normal 750 rpm. Once the RPM drops to normal RPM, you can pop the shifter out of first gear (and into neutral) and release the clutch. My guess is most likely the car was in first gear before and it idled normal for you OR the car was warm when you started it OR the emissions delete created your cold start issue.

@@TheBilliardCorner I actually learned most of this a couple days after I left that reply. It idled at 3,000, then dropped to 1,500, then slightly lower. But I didn't know about the way to bypass it using 1st gear, so thanks for that. I'll be sure to try it, but not until I get the new cooling system parts for it. The radiator arrives today, need to order the thermostat and water pump as soon as I have more money. Thanks again, to both of you :)
