They had those red box and mobile game/movie dispensers all over for a while after Blockbuster shut down. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use them. I have 1 in my local Walmart and it looks like no one has used it in a century covered in dust but still plugged in and functional lol. Miss blockbuster so bad, I'll never understand why they had to close their doors. Rent movies/games like you said if you cant afford to buy them straight up was so convenient and made sleepovers so much fun, bringing all your friends to the store and we all pick a game we wanna play and movies for the night.

The Ovilus claims to do the word thing you said, a sprit box just scans radio frequencies quickly or slowly and supposedly can allow spirits to speak through the white noise which is what they're referring to. And just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean others can't or don't, so maybe not be so dismissive?

If she has one with a cassette player and she recorded over an old cassette tape, you just cover the two tiny square holes on both sides of the top of the cassette with tiny strips of Scotch tape or something similar, make sure it’s fully rewound, then press down the play and the record button simultaneously. It will record everything it hears such as you talking or….EVP’s! You ask a question of the ghost or whatever then let it record for a couple minutes before pushing the stop button, rewind, hit the play button only and listen closely, preferably loud with headphones (take them out during the recording process though). This is seriously one of THE BEST methods for picking up EVP’s. I use to get some very interesting extra stuff way back when I’d record myself this way playing music on guitar & keyboard. Sadly I mistakenly threw out all of my “ghost music” tapes. I didn’t realize until the internet that the most simple cassette recorders have been one of the oldest tried & true favourite ghost hunting tools for as long as they’ve been around! You might be able to get new blank cassette tapes (ready for recording over) online?

So...as an 80s and 90s kid (born in 86) I feel I should tell Kris...Those sticky hands were originally fun/interesting because you throw the whole thing at the wall and it slowly climbs down. I used to play a game where I would throw it at the wall my bed was against and it would crawls down a bit before dropping and I had to catch it. It can't have the other end held in your hand though. I think I had that same MP3 player. (I refuse to call it a walkman. Walkmans use cassettes. Discman uses discs [cds] and digital music devices are MP3 players)

I've done the same with my phone and an iPod shuffle that I keep around for that reason. 22:39 - Oh hey, I have one of those. I keep it as a podcast backup. Management software is a wee bit fiddly but it does good work if all you're doing is organizing a playlist and listening to it straight ahead.
