I'm currently on the grind of getting actually every single game and port of every Sonic game (as in Forces for example being on PS4, Switch and Xbox One), being in Europe kinda doesn't help but I'm currently 78% complete (that's 125 out of 160 games) really jealous of the Saturn, Pico, Chaotix and CD and Schoolhouse so congrats!

Actually, Sonic Chronicles for DS is not worse. It’s average and challenging. It’s a dream to be happening. It’s all new experiences and bonuses. It’s like Sonic Heroes but the exclusive DS and the RPG. I think it’s fun and interesting. You will see why when you play that game. It’s supposed to be part one and the company, BioWare, planned to make another part. Staffs and BioWare were banned to make Sonic Chronicles due to violations. Other staffs found out its violations after made this game to sell without permissions. They didn’t follow the laws / instructions. It’s sad when I found out via online after I finished the game within weeks, slowly.

My current collection of sonic games is very good and I’m proud of it but it’s no where’s near completion. Not to mention money as well which is a big downside which you know since you did this. Fun fact: Sonic gems collection was released on gamecube and ps2 in the EU and japan, but not in the USA. And for some reason people who ordered the ps2 version in north america directly via the sega store back in 2005 got a sonic themed Yo-Yo instead.

The amount of money you spend on double a batteries is more expensive then most the game gear games. Also it's region free. Tails sky patrol is playable.

absolute madlad, gg there's also 6 Sonic games for the Sega Master System (which you could technically play on the Genesis with a PowerBase Converter), but they're pretty much the same as their GameGear ports, most are pretty expensive and most never got released in the US, so they're probably not worth getting if you already own the GameGear versions and then there's SonicN for the Nokia N-Gage, but that's really just a (pretty bad) port of Sonic Advance 1 lol also I think you forgot Sega 3D Classics Collection 2 for the 3DS, not sure if that counts tho since the only Sonic game on it is Sonic 1 for the Genesis if you ever feel like going for the Japanese-exclusives as well, there really seems to be only 3 of them: Sonic Drift 1 and Tails' Skypatrol for the GameGear, and Sega 3D Classcs Collection 3 for the 3DS (if that one even counts lol); the GameGear is region-free so it should run the Japanese games just fine, and the 3DS can also be made region-free if you hack it still, gg

I’m in the same boat as you. Just picked up my first game gear game and. I already have 2 of the Saturn games (missing R). I’m finished the 32x, cd and genesis in about a span of 4 months (everything complete in their original boxes). I’m going from 90’s to 00’s and ending with the 2010’s. I have about 50 Sonic games rn and yes I’m keeping track. Wish me luck.

If you wanted to get the Saturn games cheap the Japanese version would have made your life so much easier. Trust me they're way cheaper than the USA version and doesn't require knowing the Japanese language to play the games. But don't go for 3D blast on the Saturn because that one was released later in the Saturns life in Japan and cost way more than the American Saturn release. Jam and Sonic R though those are like more approachable at least for the Japanese side of things.
