Unpopular opinion: the only thing I disliked about colors ultimate was the new wisp, and being unable to listen to the original tracks in gallery. (Really cool you can use the old tracks in stages though, and they fixed most bugs. Never had one when playing.)

Even though Sonic Colours is not the best remaster (for example: Sonic's model looks shiny) my opinion: it is the easier and more accessable way to play Sonic Colours if you play it on an Xbox, PS4/PS5 or PC. I played it on Series X and it ran fine however I don't know how bad the bugs on the Switch version is.

9:01 I mean not really ,you can play it on steam and Xbox backwards compatibility,the original issues were still there for the Xbox players and the steam players needed mods ,meanwhile PlayStation 4 and 5 and the Nintendo switch basically had no way of playing generations,so it isn’t really available in most platforms

I'm sorry, but even without Shadow Gens, Generations NEEDED a remaster. It was unavailable on PS5 and Switch through any legal means beforehand, meaning you'd need a PS3/4 or Xbox 360/One/Series console or PC to play, something not everyone wants, has, or can currently afford. Also, releasing it on Switch was just a no-brainer, with it being the third best selling console of all time.

Almost every Sonic remaster has one good thing and one bad thing about them For SA1 and SA2 it was bugs. When compared to the Dreamcast and especially the Gamecube rereleases, these releases are far more buggy and broken than the original versions. It's what has lead to the reputation that these games are especially buggy when the original releases actually weren't this way. Good thing is that these games are easy to run on PC and can be easily modded into the best version of this game to date. For Colors ultimate it's much like what you said, it's more buggy than the original release and the colors are all sorts of messed up. It doesn't help with the fact that the cutscene animation data is built into the game itself so they could have actually rerendered the cutscenes into the new visuals and in 4K or even made them real time. Good thing is that it's one of the few Sonic games that runs at higher than 60fps on PC and you can play it on all the currently modern consoles. Sonic Origins has the issues as you listed. The other negative I'd list is the music for Sonic 3. I know this wasn't in Sega's hands but the OST of Sonic 3 is iconic. Using the PC soundtrack was perfectly fine I just wish they had chosen a better soundcard to pull the OST from. The soundcard they chose to emulate was not the best one The mobile ports are pretty much the only faultless remasters/remakes I can say. They don't just replicate the originals, they outright replace them because they do pretty much everything they have better. I just don't have anything negative to say about them other than the fact that we never got a Sonic 3 mobile remaster by Christian Whitehead on them For Sonic X Shadow Gens it's the rewritten cutscenes. These are frankly bad and at best are just a sidegrade to the original and at worst are rewriting characters into their future versions that don't belong. They feel even more pointless when you look at the fact that the Japanese voice acting is all pulled straight from the original 2011 release meaning they didn't even bother to change those. It doesn't help that none of the cutscenes were reanimated making the new lines not fit the original versions. Plus there was one more problem of pretty much all the rerecorded lines being worse than what they did 13 years ago in terms of voice performances. They really didn't need to rerecord every single line, especially the ones that were left unchanged as those don't even sound as good. I don't like the way Ian Flynn writes character dialogue. Also the Switch version of Sonic Gens was fully capable of hitting 60fps in docked mode with no drops. Some of the music remixes in Shadow Gens fall too much into the EDM and I hate that. I did not like the Cyberspace level themes from Frontiers at all As for the good stuff, the game is now more easily accessible to those who don't own a PC or and Xbox console from the past 19 years. The PC version now also lacks the frankly awful launcher it had so there aren't any issues regarding that. Settings are now all accessible from the menu and controllers are now hot swappable unlike in the original PC version that required a mod. The game also contains both modern and the original controls for those who prefer either one. Shadow Gens is also truly the highlight of the entire package. Everything about it is great from the stage design, the visuals, the animation, to the small amount of story it covers. Shadow Gens' animation quality is so nice I will say it even surpasses Unleashed and takes the crown as the best animation in a sonic game. There are so many small things about the animation that make it great. Gerald and Maria are handled very well in the game and don't feel like they overstayed their welcome or feel like nostalgia pandering. I am surprised to see Sonic Team not milk the characters dry for nostalgia bait like they would have just 5-10 years ago. This is also the first game since unleashed that we've had fully 3D levels and it's fantastic. I like that they separate the 2D and 3D stages instead of just turning them into a hybrid that often just ends up favoring 2D stages. They also successfully explored a different side to Shadow and it was nice seeing him shed a tear briefly at the end of the game. It shows he isn't just some edgy emotionless character and it does build on what Sonic 06 did with his character

I still remember when I was elementary school that Christian whitehead uploaded a video of Sonic 3 and I was waiting for years (im currently in my 4th year college). Now I was able to see my favorite classic game of all time be fully treated like the 1,2 and CD ports. With sonic colors and generations remaster, Im thankful that many people (even if generations was already available) are able to play the games again, even if their…stories are questionable but I do hope Sonic unleashed and sonic hero’s port and possibly shadow the hedgehog and 06 port because why not. I’m optimistic because it’s history that Sega tried to avoid but now accept its mistakes. But I’m always gone be critical how they’ll handle the remasters as shown with colors and origins. But Generations showed good promise for the future

Ehhh personally I still hoping for a port of Unleashed with only improvement being the frames for all systems. Im still be worried about them remastering Unleashed, especially if I hear anything about rewrites n current voice cast. Hell I don’t even think Mike could do a goofy/menacing version of Eggman like he done in OG Unleashed. Don’t mean to be rude, but I rather they just reused all the lines for Unleashed Eggman n don’t let current Mike do anything if he can’t bring the same energy. Hoping they also just reuse Jason n other 4kids cast performance too but I doubt Sonic Team will do it🫤. If it happens along with rewrites, then I just hope Ian at least give more cutscenes of Chip experiencing every culture activities, give more development of him being with Sonic, new lore, add Sonic’s gang in each hub world, and Silver dlc.

I would love for games like Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and the Sonic Riders trilogy. BTW, when you were saying that RenderWare is defunct, it is actually not, but rather, they just don't use it anymore. Defunct mainly means it's shutdown. RenderWare is not shutdown, so therefore it's not defunct. They would still take enough more time to make them look more colorful. We know you want an Unleashed Remastered. For Riders, I don't think it's under RenderWare. To my knowledge, if they can't get remastered, they can at least emulated those games for PS4/PS5, along with Sonic Rivals 1 & 2, and Sega Superstar Tennis. Free Riders, I don't think that's gonna happen at all.

1. desert dazzle is not playable in the 2011 cd remake 2. there are a lot of differences in the modern sadx ports that make it worse than both the original version and the gamecube version, it’s still a fine way to play but i’d highly recommend getting it on pc with the dreamcast conversion mod if you can

people despise SADX because of the changed look and I will say it's inferior to the Dreamcast look but if you want to play with that look OFFICIALLY, the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure only runs at 30fps, the load times are significantly longer compared to the GameCube and Xbox/PC/PS3 ports, you can't skip the cutscenes on the DC version, and there are some other weird quirks in the DC version that were changed in the SADX port.

People don’t JUST hate it cause of the look, they hate it cause it actually runs worse than the DC version. It’s really buggy. That infamous Emerald Coast loop bug that people back in the 2010s LOVED to use to fuel their “SA1 is actually a bad game” spiel doesn’t exist on DC, for example

It'd be so awesome if it's true. Remaking a bad product is a smart move to not only redo what they'd started with, but only rebuild the reputation of a franchise. It's a huge win for Sega if it become as good as P-06. No, exceeds it.

The adventure ports aren't very good. Sa2 battle on gamecube is good (minor issues aside) but the hd port of sa2 is awful especially on pc. Sa1 had it even worse. There's a reason why people mod the games on pc. Colors ultimate is shit. Origins is not very good. The only remaster that is decent is sonic generations. Hopefully future ports are more like that.

@@SFproductions1 It's a "death by a thousand paper cuts" situation. There's SO MANY little things like that it ends up being a vastly inferior way to play the game. The examples I always think about are how every platform is completely lit up during nighttime, completely ruining the ambience, or how you can easily fall through the floor right before the FIRST LOOP in Emerald Coast. It may not be a big deal for some, but I thought it was weird you didn't mention it at all given the negative reputation DX has in the fanbase.
