My husband and I use to go to an auction every Friday. In one of those auctions I seen a Thomas wooden train set for my grandson. He told me to bid on it. When it came time to bid it started at $5. I bid but someone kept bidding also. It was at $45 and I wanted it really bad so I went to $50. I finally won it. I found my husband and he told me he almost won the Thomas train set but was out bid. OMG! He was bidding against me.

Pallets can be fun but buying and reselling anything is a ton of work and even more risk

People need to understand that even this is set up to make a few people a lot of money, because before they ever open the doors for the public, they go through every single box and they estimate the cost times 10 percent, why ? Back in the late 80's I used to do military auctions, and I would make some side money. But they changed the system and now it's not really that good of a deal. There's still something's that are worth it if you can go and get them. One of the biggest money maker's was buying the tires that came off of military aircraft, they were sold by weight and used to be cheap, and the best market was farmers in the cotton areas that would use them for their vehicles because they weren't street legal but they would last a long time. But all good things come to a end and now with the current situation of the online bidding it's not the same anymore. This was a great video and if you have the money to get started you can actually make money. I myself can't do it anymore because I am disabled and they don't give that much for disability and with the way prices keep going up, makes it tough to just get through the month. Good luck with your show and I enjoyed seeing you guys have a great time with an awesome auction. 👍👍🤪🐈😎😎😎

Yeah the concept of a bunch of rich dudes buying stuff that other people ordered and probably went through some kind of stress learning it was "lost" just doesn't sit right with me. I can easily imagine these guys making a video series documenting their long expensive journey to track down something they had lost in shipping.

That sucks, I feel for ya, I hate it when “special” things can’t be replaced that are lost in freak circumstances. It’s always just a creepy thing not to mention frustrating beyond. Hope you find some replacements, and let’s face it, worse things have happened, it just doesn’t feel like it at the time.

@mjc82482 жыл бұрын
It's fun as long as you have disposable income and a dumpster. Ninety percent of the pallet will be junk but you do find some good stuff. If you do it for the treasure hunt it's pretty cool.
@littlejackalo53262 жыл бұрын
It's pretty cool to do, I just wouldn't support these "you can't come because of the coof" guys. They're still using that excuse, long after most of the world is back to normal. I wonder how long people will use that excuse. It's just an excuse to make their end easier. They don't need to host and manage a hundred people coming in every week. So it's cheaper for them.

Be careful of those freight companies in Amazon return pallets. the one I work for briefly would open them and take all the good stuff and then fill the rest to the public. So all they got was junk that the owners didn't want it was a full racket.

Wouldn't u think though that the companies that do that, wouldn't u think they would just leave all the good things in the pallets so that more and more people buy from them because the customers got good items where if they got sh** items then they wouldn't wanna go back to that company that gave them bad items so the companies won't make business or profit so they r only ruining themselves and their business

kind like the storage business ran one for the wife's family...LOL We always looked in units. Sometimes it's just not worth auctioning. Other thing was finding free stuff like a boat with a hole in it and shove it into a storage unit and auction it off...LOL People see a boat and they think big $$$$ what they don't know is that it has a hole in it. The guy eluded to just that back when they were less busy you could take stuff and combine the shit and put it back in the auction. The sad part is the story of a storage customer with 15 units, we had a guy that would buy storage units from us and just toss a lock on and keep it and he was up to like 2o. His monthly bill was like $5,000 and he couldn't typically pay so we bug him and he come down after 3 months and drop $10,000 in cash on us but still owed money. I recall he passed away and his family had to deal with all the units. He never went into a unit he bought, simply put a lock on and pay monthly. He was a hoarder...it was sad.

@@gearbanginentertainment7476 that's pretty stupid though I think coz the more expensive things they put in the crates and pallets then the companies would profit more from it from getting more and more customers that's my thoughts any ways haha

My mom can't even take me to a thrift store without buying a toy like My Little Pony, Beanie Baby, or even things I know are worth more than what they are being sold for. I once got a original handmade beanie baby for $4 at a thrift store. it still had the heart tag with the original tag protector. It was Magic The Dragon, a white dragon I saw being sold for up to $1,000 on eBay once I took it home. I always look at the years and companies on things when at a thrift store because you never know what you may find. If you are walking around after looking at something you can pull out your phone to look up whatever you looked at to see if it's worth buying to resell or keep.
