I was a nail tech years ago, base coats should stay somewhat tacky to make the polish adhere to the base, no need to let it dry very much . 3 swipes down the nail bed is what we aim for , down each side then middle .

I thought everyone had forgotten about Folgers Singles! Glad someone else remembers. I was the only coffee drinker in my house starting at 9. My grandmother- also the troublemaker who got me hooked on coffee in the first place - bought me Folgers Singles coffee bags (decaf, because I was 9) for my house in the mid-90s. They weren’t anything special- I knew regular coffee was MUCH better even at that age - but it was that or nothing for me. I tried them again a few years ago and they’re pretty terrible. Not sure if they’ve gotten worse or I just have real coffee to ruin the curve.

I worked in a dermatology clinic for a few years. The best product out there for hair growth is minoxidil 5%, or generic Rogaine (you can do Rogaine if you want, it's just way more expensive but the active ingredient is the same). All the labeling says "only for men," but it's perfectly safe for women/people of all genders. It also says to use it twice a day but once is fine. Foam or liquid, whichever you prefer. Liquid is cheaper. It's by far the best and most clinically proven product for teleogen effluvium. Pro tip: change your pillowcase weekly. If the product builds up on your pillow while you sleep and then rubs on your face you can get unwanted hair growth.

@wishiwasriding9522 жыл бұрын

You can combine the base coats if you want! Just make sure you use the long-lasting one first and put smoothing on top of it. Long-lasting needs to be touching the nail itself in order to do its job but the smoothing one just evens out the texture so it can go on top of other base coats. The creme polishes from HT have the wider brush in them and everything else (so far) has the skinny brushes, but she does sell both sizes of brush separately if you really hate one or the other. I'm personally on team skinny brushes because my nails are very curved and a bit narrow so the wide brushes tend to make a mess on me. But then I also rarely buy cremes, so it isn't too much of a problem. And the Super Glossy Taco has an extra ingredient that can't be shipped internationally, so it's only available in the US since her polishes are made here. I'm kind of bummed you didn't do the "build your own bundle" feature since you were so close to having the bundle already! You pick a base, creme, topper, and top coat (glossy or matte) and save a little bit on the bundle. If you order from them again, I *hiiiiighly* recommend Everything Taco. It looks like the floor after a school dance (as in confetti and sparkles everywhere, not litter lol). Cremes look so much more interesting when you add a topper! Also thought I'd share some anti-chip tips! If you can, wear gloves while doing the dishes and other cleaning chores. Try not to use your nails as tools for things (scratching off stickers, prying stuff open, etc.) since that wears away at the polish. Wrapping each layer of polish along the free edge of the nail does help with wear time, though it is definitely harder to do if your nails are short. And the more you paint your nails, the better your nails get at holding onto polish in general. I used to not paint my toes much and so when I did, sometimes the polish would just completely pop off as if I'd used a peel-off base. As I kept putting polish on them more often, they've gotten a lot better at staying polished! The polish on them right now has been there for a couple of weeks and it looks new aside from where it's grown out a little! Sorry for the massive comment! I'm really passionate about nail stuff. 😅

Mildly interesting fact: in Argentina we have the “cheap” store brands doing a version of their coffee in tea (or coffee) bags, it’s common to see them in the supermarket (great for traveling if you, like me, can’t stand instant coffee and that’s all they have where you’re staying, and it’s overall mostly targeted to travelers, as it’s cheaper to buy the normal pack of coffee if you have a coffee machine or a filter). And it does make sense that the bag acts like a filter. I was inspired by that for my technique for doing cold brew like in bulk. I take a nut milk filter bag, put a whole packet of coffee in there and submerge it in a lot of water, then I have cold brew for like a week.

I'm sure Emma has stronger roasts, the fancy mouse is probably the lightest. But Lo was right the lighter the roast the more caffeine you will get. Steeping it longer won't get you more flavor( I don't think, but I could be wrong) it will just "burn"your coffee and make it bitter.

I also keep my nails pretty short and find wrapping the tip challenging. Don't add more polish (or base/top coat) to the brush cause you'll have way too much and with shorties you probably have enough left on the brush. I focus more on getting on the edge of the nail than wrapping the underside, even sometimes just dabbing the edge (especially with the colour coats). Sometimes I will turn my hand around so my fingertips are pointing up (not resting on a table) and I can see the underside of my nail and gently pull back on the skin with my thumb when I am trying to really wrap the tips as best as I can. I generally try to wrap the tip more with my base and top coats and don't worry as much with the colour cause with short nails that will just make an insane mess.

Just some tips on getting your nail polish to last, 1) dishwashing gloves for obviously doing dishes but also when doing laundry and other housework 2) Using a shampoo brush when you wash your hair so that you’re not using the tips of your nails to scrub 3) Cleanup helps a ton. After you finish painting your nails (before top coating) , if you use a cleanup brush dipped in remover/acetone ( I use ones from TwinkledT but Holo Taco also sells one) around the edges of your nails and leave a *tiny* gap and then apply your top coat to seal in everything. 4) After you top coat just make sure no polish is touching your skin. The oils from our skin will make polish more likely to peel off so no skin contact = polish lasting longer.
