Wow just sold my 2007 Bmw M5 with the Smg transmission. I was never so glad to get rid of any car more than that one. Spent over $11k on repairs in just 2.5 years. Rebuilt transmission, vanos system, rear differential, and 2 oxygen sensors. Good luck Mike!! Lol... Save your $$$

Good choice! I've had my 2008 M5 for 6 tears now as my daily driver and it's been awesome. It's not nearly as bad as a lot of recent reviews make it out to be. I have 131k miles on mine and while it's had a few of the common issues it hasn't been a money pit or a pain. I love mine and will not ever sell it. It's too good and too unique. If you happen to read this feel free to shoot me a message and I can help you out with any questions. First thing to do is an oil change and a Blackstone Oil analysis. Then do an oil report on every single oil change so you can track wear metals. If they track clean then your rod bearings are likely fine. If there are consistently high metal numbers then you will want to do the rod bearings ASAP.

@jamiecivic If you've seen an E60 with the facelift, I think you would agree that it does look very modern, I.E the LED head/tail lights. The car in the video is a so called pre-LCI or pre-facelift model if you will. That car doesn't look as modern so I can see what you mean in regards to that. But the facelift imo is hard to believe having the body made in 2003.
