Love the old Dodge trucks. I had a '76 W200 ex army truck. I live in the Netherlands and about 30 years ago the US army sold a whole bunch of them. Around that time they replaced them for the Chevy K30. There used to be an army base near my hometown. I can tell you that driving a truck like that around here sure was an adventure on it's own. It was a 318. Very spartan inside...no headliner, no carpet, no powersteering...felt like driving a tank.. 🤣🤣 Awesome trucks! Love your channel 👍👍

My brother in law was born in Crossville. Beautiful country around there ! I used to bring treasures back from the salvage yard too ! My dad and I would spend all day looking around. We had a few full of old cars from the 30's-70's. Drove my mom nuts !
@machinist58282 жыл бұрын
That may be a retired Air Force crew wagon. Those were still in use around the base to haul missle maintenance crews and security details to the missle fields. Many had slide-in campers installed. Also the aircraft alert crews used those so the whole crew could throw their A bags in the back and get to the flight line alert pad. There should be more out there but my information is getting as rusty as your floorboards. Keep an eye on the equipment auctions and military surplus sites. While in the service those trucks were well maintained but but operated in some of the most demanding conditions from miles of dusty gravel roads to white-out blizzards. Good luck with that old truck. Listen on a quiet night and you might get to hear some whispers of tales past. Cheers Terry
@williamlloyd37692 жыл бұрын
Agree, does remind me of an Air Force “follow me” ramp truck. - Crew cab - long bed - 4 wheel drive - slightly lifted - spotlights - Follow Me sign above cab PS - government surplus property site would be the place to pick up an example

f you are just using this vehicle for a tow rig, Have you thought about using one of your mini buses for the tow rig, just add a trailer hitch? Buses usually have a diesel motor and a manual transmission. Take the far back seats out and add a 4" sink base. On the other side you could put in a porta--potty. Put in a small foldup table and you have a place to eat or play board games or read. It should have room for the wife and 3 kids. The mobile unit would be good for camping and allow you to take the whole family with you. Parts should be cheaper and more plentiful. Add some water and lets hit the road. On your next vehicle, grab another mini bus from the yard and improve it more!

The best thing in this video, is a ride along with a friend extended a dozen states and a few providence's from each other. Were I say twenty years minimum younger, I could fix that slight issue. Its a great find Silas... I am thinking along the same lines as you with one exception that might work/help do this. "Made from scratch plus".... a channel that would collaborate this build between you and the man who will do this job. I think if effort was made to figure it out, it would fly well and of course, if the man who does the work is interested, your still getting rigs that if done.... ones that really are not far gone (not yard art material) would continue the new channel. It would be hard to get a "Karl Fisher" kind guy who is one fantastic metal man on the team. It might just be the time to bring in new blood as in someone who will connect with people well and be a good hand to have. I could go on and on for how to find or other stuff but you already built a successful channel, its a snap now. I believe the trick is finding someone who has a lot of experience, maybe retired looking for things to do for the retirement days or a 1092 form "self employed" cash kind of person.
