Sorry...but I'm leery about buying anything being delivered from China . I'm trying not to buy products made in China or shipped from China without the store in the states having a good return policy or warranty policy . I've gotten burned by China based businesses several times but luckily for me my Credit card had a great consumer dispute policy , but I'm not making these scammers rich by putting the cost of the loss on a reputable business . Their shenanigans have to get shut down by us not patronising them even if it means sometimes paying extra .

@Oz Lang Basically everything these days are made in China. Apple products, computer chips, car parts, and more. It’s sad to see products with the big American flag saying: designed in America, however underneath in very fine print says: made in China. Honestly if China really wanted to screw over the US, they just need to stop importing things.

@@SilverHeist -- I admit to seeing the observation on several YT videos about sewing as, after a long (+30 years) away from sewing, I bought a new, inexpensive sewing machine a few months ago and am slowly mending things, making masks (a zillion YT videos on them, too), and making plans to use old clothes that still fit well as patterns for new clothing. A good pair of scissors is a must have, though rolling razor blades are popular now if one also has a slice-proof surface to use them on with great care. I note one sewing channel is presented by a fellow whose grandmother taught him all he knows, so it's a hobby for everyone. A comment comparing FedEx and U.S. mail . You got your coins from Hong Kong in about a week. I ordered 2copies of my Birth certificate from my State capital, about 250 miles away the first week of April . They were sent to me by U.S. mail . But the local Post Office 🏤 returned them to the Vital Statistics department. After waiting for there arrival , I called . Found out that they had been returned. Vital Statistics mailed them again first of last week to a P.O. box this time. A week later and the U.S. post office still hasn't made delivery . Nearly 2 months and no U.S. delivery , but from Hong Kong in less than a week . Wowww !

I don’t think $16 over spot is a good deal. You should buy larger weight bars. And if Apmex is now selling those coins for $48 over spot, then that’s a total rip off. Spot is about $28 right now. To sell for almost double spot price is ridiculous.

There are lots of videos on what to look for in avoiding scams, and the many different tests to help identify fakes. Note that there isn't any single test to spot every fake, so it's important to conduct a series of tests to weed out the fakes, so that, by the time you've done all the relevant tests, you have a reasonable probability that a coin that passes all those tests means it's genuine. Also note that some tests require you to handle a coin directly; this isn't ideal for numismatic grade coins, as handling may diminish the value of the coin, so the test must be skipped. For those instances, you'll want non-invasive tests, but the equipment can be expensive; they may pay for themselves the moment they weed out a fake gold coin.

Just out of curiosity, I weighed a one-ounce yankee gold eagle and then a one-ounce yankee silver eagle on mine old Ohaus balance scale designed for weighing gunpowder and bullets. i expected each to balance out at exactly 480 grains. To my surprise, the silver weighed about 488 grains and the gold was too heavy to be measured on the scale that was good to 511 grains. The scale always before had measured bullets on ranges within tolerance for the weight marked on the box. Why?
@SilverHeist3 жыл бұрын
Great question and even better curiosity. The American Silver Eagle is 99.9 % pure silver while the American Gold Eagle is 22K Gold. 22k / 24k = 91.6 %. The gold coin is not pure gold but is guaranteed to have one Troy ounce of gold content. And then other metals. So the gold coin weighs more than a Troy ounce.

I think Morgan silver dollars are better. A silver round maybe if its like a pcgs silver eagle with like an ok date like 80s 90s or older then maybe. Morgan silver dollars are historical really nice coins.
@jaydubau87553 жыл бұрын
But they are not 999 fine
@Goddess-illias3 жыл бұрын
@@jaydubau8755 The thing is they are historical. there are rare key dates out there that are worth many thousands however silver rounds don't gain a historic status as time goes on its mostly just the silver content that's gives those value but a morgan silver dollar depending on its condition and rarity has more value then a silver round and as time goes on the historic value goes up too. And they are 90% silver that's not bad at all. For me its not about the silver its about collecting history did you know morgans are still legal tender but a silver round is not if you take it to a bank they would give you a dollar of course that would be stupid its worth way more then that. but it does have that status what if some kind of silver turn in happens and everyone has to sell their silver that's very doubtful but what if theirs a loophole regarding silver that is also legal tender I doubt that would mean anything they would still take it but you never know. Anyway I don't have anything against silver round stacking but seriously just go on ebay look at the most expensive silver eagles vs most expensive morgan silver dollars one is better then the other.
@jaydubau87553 жыл бұрын
@@Goddess-illias i get that. It just doesn't appeal to me. I want big 999 bars and bullion near spot
@Goddess-illias3 жыл бұрын
@@jaydubau8755 the most expensive silver eagle round I could find was a special pcgs worth 25k. the most expensive morgan I could find is around 800k. About a 100 years ago they were worth 1 dollar. just saying as time goes on both the price for rarity and the silver price goes up. So that's 2 things. bars and bullion I'm not saying that isn't treasure its just worth the silver. but wouldn't you agree that if someone is going to stack silver and hold onto it for 20 years wouldn't it be wise to stack silver that has rarity. A 500$ morgan today was worth like 100$ 40 years ago or something like that suppose in 20 years the price on silver goes up 40$ or more then you take your silver to a coin shop and that coin shop wants 40% best thing is to sell it yourself but keep in mind the more expensive it is the less people want to buy it best bet is to hold onto it for a very long time but if that is what someone is going to do then rare silver will have the maximum profit.

Can you explain why do coins need to be in perfect condition? There not any less valuable if someone handles them than if their perfect. Silver is silver is silver like a 20 dollar bill its value is the same weather handled or not. Please explain.
@SilverHeist3 жыл бұрын
Low mintage collectible coins also depend on condition for their value. Collectors are picky about condition of coin if they are paying a premium above the value of the silver.
@stevethomas52093 жыл бұрын
@@SilverHeist The key word here is " collectable " which is virtually worthless to a person gathering silver for its value to hedge against inflation. So the collectable value, or perfect condition or Shiney condition means nothing to a stacker? Do you agree?
@SilverHeist3 жыл бұрын
@@stevethomas5209 collectible coins and the extra value mean nothing to many stackers. But some stackers, including me, will collect a little (say 5-10% of coins. So then you start to understand ‘the rules’ and prices of collectible coins. But it’s a BIG category and many niches -- and expensive. So I bought a kilo bar recently and have constitutional silver. Snoopy,street fighter But look,theese are asian coins. Im not sure with taxes from asian This could be a problem.the european countrys with no taxes are allowed. You in usa have no taxes on silver coins right ? But medals. What i saw. Platin from belgium has no tax but here 20 %. So the possibility of a tax betray on ebay.
