We call these kind of waterways "klong" means canal, although the water channel from the Chao Phaya river. I'm a Bangkokian but I don't remember ever set foot o Khaosan Road. Bangkok is a food paradise for the variety and the price.

I thought at least out of pure greed, Thailand would go against WHO recommendations and be one of the first to fully open up for tourism. But when they kept refusing to do so, I started thinking they were tanking their own backpacker industry on purpose for some kind of longterm plan (like phasing out the low budget backer in favor of wealthy digital nomads, families, and crypto investors)

Language barrier is real in Thailand. Probably the only downside to going there. Dude is right, Thailand's weed is too expensive. I can get like 4 grams in local dispensary for that same $10. I guess the only way I would go to Thailand for cannabis is if my intentions was to sell it.

Me, I was protected by Thai Police for 7 years, they only took £45,000 from me before threatening my 5-year-old daughter with death unless I found more money for their protection. When you go traveling, how do you change the US currency to the place you go like to BAHT currency? How would you go about that?

Go to a currency exchange office. Write the amount you have on a piece of paper and show them. They will show you their offer. Check the exchange rates with a currency app. Then accept or reject their offer. Or just use a bank machine.
