Good review. I'm almost 65 years young. I've had the DYU D3F for over a month and ride it a few times a week. I ride 6 to 10 miles and use the pedal assist. I had a nasty motorcycle wreck several years ago and the small DYU has been great to get me back on 2 wheels(I've been riding recumbent trikes but those are for old people...:)). I like the bigger DYU and there might be one in my future. I like the looks. A 2 wheeled bicycle or e-bike is so much easier to haul around than a trike. I think the smaller DYU (D3F) is a great e-bike for older folks because it's easy to ride and doesn't have too much power. It's kind of funny to me that in the old days I'd ride my BMW motorcycle on the highway at 80 mph or higher and watching you open it up on that big DYU made me think, "That dude is hauling ass."...:) Be safe and keep up the good work...:)

I'm a 60+ woman in Sweden and I bought the D3f two months ago and I just love this toy! Of course I would like the V8 too, but I don't have room for it since I live in a small apartment and without a garage it would be gone in a second.

I remember the old days when they would sell u a bike that's "speed compliant", but then all u had to do was message the seller to find out how to unlock the actual top speed. I bought a 2kW conversion kit. It was super easy to bypass that limiter nonsense, just don't connect the blue wire lol.

The Dyu bikes are generally taken and rebranded in to stuff like Ancheer. I entertained the idea of buying a Jetson Bolt a few years back just for making runs, but then seeing the slightly larger D3f I started to want that instead, there's definitely software limited I think they can get to 20mp but yeah people supercharge them and trick them out. the V8 was another that looked really nice to me. Simple modern design, suspension and less that 2 grand felt favorable to me without breaking the bank too severely. Obviously neither are for speed demons, not without modding at least.

got me the D3f recently... super happy with it, I will describe it as: a city scooter in a bicycle dress. As it looks the way it does, it escapes most stupid laws around Europe. For sure I will double the range with an extra external battery on the rear rack or something... but the speed and torq is fine for me. It rides over cobble stone streets, tile streets and other weird types of sidewalks we got in Europe, better then any other scooter. Get another seatpost and maybe a new seat as well...

I had seriously considered the smaller one for hoping on Subways into Manhattan and using it for riding around on it doing errands. Although I think there are smaller bikes with the same size wheels now that fold even smaller.

The small one is identical to the Jetson Bolt. Have 3 from Costco - a couple years old now….. Tons of fun. Great for neighborhood barhopping here in DC.

In 2020, I paid $299 at the Costco warehouse for the Jetson Bolt (which is identical to the cheap DYU). A year later, it was $349 at Costco.

@@paulbreakman8632 Same here. 3 years later and the battery only gets 10 miles range with pedal assist. A new batter is around $150 so it's better just to sell it for cheap and get something better.

There are people who modified that little bike to go 40mph. I think most people in the USA bought the jetson bolt pro version for $300 at Costco and that one only has a 6ah battery. The replacement battery cost around $150 so when the battery dies, it's more cost effective just to sell it for cheap and get something new.

@stevelouie5928 Жыл бұрын
A ton of people bought that little bike from costco. I'd say the real advantage to that little bike is that you can easily upgrade the battery to get 3x the range but it's going to cost you. Most other ebikes have a proprietary battery but the dyu or jetson can use non oem battery packs.

@genesishep Жыл бұрын
Yikes! If you "bought" these bikes like the title says why would it matter what the company wanted as a timeline and why would they have control? If they sent them to you for review then fine, just say so. And you're right, they should have given you proper time to do the reviews because unfortunately it became so obvious that it was paid for (Not that I couldn't read the "Includes paid promotion" at the top of the screen) that your praise lost any sway it could have had.... I kinda of felt for you, you struggled hard to find positive things to say about the bikes when, because of the company, they were not presenting well on their own merits. The problem is, now I'm left unsure about what your channel is. Are you a product reviewer providing valuable insight and info for potential buyers and you do the occasional promo OR are you primarily a paid influencer for companies? I'm not judging either way but as a consumer, knowing the difference between what I'm watching is vital so I know how to weigh the value of the info that's being presented so I can make a good purchase decision. I think we all rank critical reviews as being considerably more valuable then we do promotional content. I hope you won't take offense to my post because I do not intend to offer insult. It probably doesn't seem it but I'm trying to be helpful. Companies like this can really hurt your brand with this BS. We all need to put food on the table so I get it but when an outfit like this comes along the damage they can do far outweighs the benefit of the compensation they provide and in the end I doubt it's worth it to you. I'm pretty loyal to the content creators I subscribe to but I only subscribe if I feel I can trust the content. I realize halfway through your video that I think I watched a motorcycle build of yours years ago but I'd have to look through your videos to be positive. Anyway, now I'm just rambling. ✌🏽
