As others have mentioned, DO NOT mix your gas at 25:1 unless you enjoy scraping carbon deposits out of mufflers and spark plugs. 40 or 45:1 is the correct ratio with modern 2 stroke oils. Your chain tension is to high and both the bar and chain along with the drive sprocket are going to wear out in days rather than months or longer. New chains will stretch a lot when first installed but after an hour or so will be normal. The best rule you can learn is that every time you stop for gas and oil when cutting, adjust your chain tension and run the file across every tooth 3 times. While it may seem like extra time not cutting it will actually save you a lot in the long term, as sharp chains are safer and cut faster and your bar and chain will last longer. Your saw is not 63cc, more like 48 to 55cc. Every time someone lists a saw like yours for sale they add a few cc's to get more sales because "Bigger is better" right? I have 2 of these saws and buying one is like playing the lottery. You may get a good one and then again you may not? Stock up on oil pumps and the drive gear for this saw as they seem to wear out on a regular basis. They are all copies of the same unit but the plastic is different colors with different odd ball names printed on them. Make sure your air cleaner is tight as they seem to have a tendency to leak and allow dust to get in the carb (not good). Also, replace the no name spark plug with an NGK or other half decent one. The one on the saw is garbage and it will quit at the most inconvenient time. If you get a decent unit these saws run pretty good and will last a fairly long time. I can buy 5 of these for the same price of one Husqvarna. With that being said, you can bet that when I go to work My Echo CS271 and Sthil 041 and others are on the truck too. I'm not a gambler. Good luck and spend some time on youtube learning all about your new investment. I will make your experience with this saw much better. It's a great way to improve your mechanical skills and a great saw to "loan" your neighbor, cousin and relative when asked about borrowing one. Someone will eventually ask, it's just a matter of time and it is ALWAYS the person that should never be allowed near a mechanical device? They'll pick it up and come back awhile later, set it down and you hear the following words, "Travis, why did you loan me this junk? It only ran for 3 minutes,died and now it won't start anymore? You need to fix it!" The oil to gas ratio won't matter in this case because it wasn't added. Problem solved! (Permanently LMAO!) Be safe, good luck and keep cuttin'

Travis, great video. Seems like you and Chris had almost the same idea with a cheap saw. Nothing wrong with a purple saw. Dont matter the color as long as it cuts and runs thats all that matters. It looks like it does those jobs with no issues at all. Im fixing to build a clone saw when i get a few days off work kinda excited to see how it does. Its here in a box just waiting to get assembled. Ill probably video it and see how that process goes. It also goes along the lines of "cheap" saws. Compared to OEM alot cheaper. There is a trick to getting those chains untangle. Sometimes, they are a pain. I just put a video out a few days ago for a new way im trying to store my chains to keep them from getting tangled. Might be something you would like or would help if you run into tangled chains alot. Keep it up buddy

Just a note - This saw is not bigger than your Husqvarna 460. In reality almost all 63cc Chinese saws are actually 54cc-58cc. only a tiny hand full of higher quality Chinese saws exceed the 60cc mark in their 63cc class of saws. The best thing bout this $100 saw is if it goes Pop, you can buy another one and be at break even point. Best advise for longer life - Clean thoroughly after use and don't over tighten the chain. only use Non-ethanol gas and stick with the 25:1 for at least the first 10 tanks. 40:1 works nicely thereafter for this class of saw.

@@TravisDoesFirewood Gas - Non-Ethanol usually has a decent octane rating. Even Premium can have 10% or more of ethanol. Ethanol is hygroscopic and the longer it sits around the more water it absorbs. Ethanol is what destroys Carburetors and fuel lines in small motors. Stay safe!

On most chinese chainsaws it says 25:1 (oil/gasoline mixture) but it is completely wrongly translated (they confused milliliters with liters). What they wanted to say is 25 ml of oil 2t to 1 liter of gasoline but it works perfectly with a standard mixture of 20 ml of oil to 1 liter of petrol (50:1). Use only quality 2t oil mixture.

The component parts of those cheap Chinese saws are all pretty much identical across a small range of sizes. Only the colours and a few bolt-on parts are different. Bar oil leaks where the "nipple" on the pump goes into the oil reservoir. You need to take the clutch off, remove the pump, and find an o-ring that will fit snugly over the nipple and seal against the body. That will greatly reduce leakage. Or just store the saw chainside up. I have a slightly smaller version with 18" bar that I use for occasional felling and firewood, mostly small stuff. Still on the original chain. After getting it properly sharpened it cuts like a hot damn. Tubes to the primer harden up and pop off. Original plug doesn't last long. Guzzles fuel and tends to rev up spontaneously when running low. Starts very easily when the carb is properly adjusted. All said, good value for money if you don't mind occasional tinkering. Got mine for the equivalent of about 50 USD. Half tempted to get the same size as you got and put a longer bar on just to make the neighbours jealous. I used 50:1 mix from new, no issues.

@mitchelsallseason935911 ай бұрын
pro tip, when u start it and the chain stops IMMEDIATELY when u let go, too tight! you want it to stop after maybe 1 spin, basically tight enough to not have a gap, but loose enough to spin a little freely. If you run them tight like that it will stretch your chain out way quicker and wear your bar like crazy from the added friction. the biggest thing tho, it will never cut as well if its that tight versus proper tension. 23 years in biz for reference. EVERYONE does this wrong, even tree guys and arborists ive hired had to be taught this same exact thing, so dont feel bad! cool little saw for the price! when i say little we rock 90-120cc saws for our "big saws" but its def a nice little saw!

I've seen some guys have a bunch of these around for their crew to use, and heard that some arborist's rotate this saw for pro use. I don't know about loggers using this saw in the mountains or anything, but people do use it for pro work without issues. Also, some lables are 20:1 for mix ratio, others say 50:1 on that same saw. I would just run 40:1 like most guys do for all their 2 stroke equipment and call it good. If you are full throttle for extended periods, maybe run a tad more oil in your mix.

And yeah that chain is going to stretch like crazy, thats normal. Cheers.

When you say how wobbly and dissatisfying the Parkway choke knob is, I totally agree - it's spoiled for the sake of a 2¢ rubber gromit made to fit and made in the millions! And I bet all those cheaper brand from Amazon and Temu and any other bargain ones are made the same unless very lucky and if so we all should let everyone else know which cheap brand is built better than usual, then this mat fiter slowly back to Chona and we'll get the standard we expect vut at the cheapest we can, so some of us can buy one when otherwise we wouldn't! Lets hear it for the 'little guy', Joe B. Low-Average. 😅 No its not below avaerage to buy only what you need for the amout of use it's going to get. Did you ever find a solution to that choke cable wobble, I'm guessing you live with it, just as most of us might. I would have liked to see you compare this to your other two chainsaws to show close up - how those brands handled the choke knob, or if they don't have a choke knob, "do any chainsaws have automatic choke", for example. Alright bud few things here you obviously are not too experienced so here is some knowledge for you ..... 1. Any chain when new and you start the saw up and rev it a little will stretch . Never mind a cheap Chinese one .. 2.more powerful than a 460 husqvarna I severely doubt that as you will be lucky if that is 55cc not 62cc as Chinese saws they always lie a little about the engine size . And if it is more powerful than your husqvarna then go and get the husqvarna checked out because it's not running correctly or out of tune. 3 . Putting fuel into a hot saw causes issues ? Wtf ? . What do you think the guys that are running the same saw all day every day do ????.. 4 . I wish I had all that wood to cut .. and I am not going to lie it seems ok for the money because with a good quality chain it will cut even better as those Chinese ones don't hold the sharpness too well .

@@TravisDoesFirewood wish I had your pile to cut for my stove . But honestly if you think that saw is more powerful than the 460 , truly the 460 is not quite right as in tune chain , carb problem. And do not and I repeat do not run it 25: 1 as it will totally gunk up the carb , cylinder and that muffler may have a dpf or whatever you call it as I know the weimars has and it's pretty much same saw . Run all including your husqvarna 40 to 45:1 far better and it will run better and cooler as it's more efficient . All the clone saws say 25:1 as they are going with the older spec of oils . It's not what the saw says to go by it's the makers of your oil you go by as they are the ones who have researched and developed there oil to a certain standard and if you use stihl ultra you will kill the saw in no time especially at 25:1 . That stihl ultra does not give any bottom end protection at 50:1 and if you go more it totally carbon up the saw . Use echo red armour or echo power blend gold or dominator anything but stihl ultra and always run 40 to 45: 1 and your machines will run sweet and less carburetor issues and less carbon build up and a little more protection. But definitely do not run 25:1
@TravisDoesFirewood11 ай бұрын
@@richardsneddon2976 Interesting re your stance on using 45 or 50:1 and not what the manual says to use 25:1. I'll ask this on my next update video and see what other wood hounds saw. @@TravisDoesFirewood all Chinese saws say 25:1 , I have an 038 clone and it says 25:1 . Like I said that saw inside the muffler has a type of dpf filter and if you run it 25:1 it will be full of carbon in no time and the heat can't escape out the saw and it will burn up . I and most of the tree guys as in full time professional arborists , loggers all run 40 to 45:1 . Because you always know that there is enough oil for lubrication without gunking up the carb , muffler and inside the cylinder and piston. . You do what you think is best run it 25:1 and see what happens. I just fitted a new cylinder and piston to a saw I bought cheap and the first tank I put through it was 25 to 30:1 and after the tank the oil was running all down the front of the muffler as there was far too much . But that is best when a first tank goes through a new saw or a new cylinder and piston. I could not imagine what state it would be in if I kept it that way for 5 or 10 tanks

What price - not having to go tgrough that! (Never let youths gain randomly, 'axecess' to your chainsaw / workshop, people. They know little about danger and a chainsaw can be deadly in the wrong hands - (count them after each job! Worse still is the oh so 'invisible' band saw blade). ❤ SAFETY FIRST! ❤ I love cutting wood and burning wood oxcasionally on our fire pit with a guest or two for drinks around the fire.
