I live south of Boston , MA . Once a week for a while there would be a news report about a dealer getting hit with 5 or 6 Challengers being taken at the same time . A few were taken with the thieves breaking into the key storage area and just simply driving off . Most were cloned key steals and they would clean out the inventory. Boston is a great target area . A thief can be in 5 different States in less than an hour .

As a Mopar enthusiast and Mopar hooptie connoisseur. The pealing paint on the upper radiator support and just the way it’s painted in general tells me without doubt the support has been replaced. Whichever and whatever accident that things been in was probably a lot worse then the carfax leads us to believe. The damage is usually pretty nasty when that upper support needs to be replaced. Hopefully you get lucky and the frame is still in good shape.

Body guy here (and fellow Mopar enthusiast 😎) came to post this you beat me to it. Aprons and shock towers don't look molested, so it may not have been too bad. How people can take such horrible care of a car is beyond me. I have a 2017 Honda CRV (I know, boring) that I bought new. It has 64,000 miles on it and there is not one scratch on it. The interior is as new. Yes, it has been garaged and driven by an old couple, but we have always taken care of our cars and have had sports cars and fast cars when we were younger. They were all taken care of. The guy who owned this just did not care.

I agree with you. I also take meticulous care of my vehicles. I purchased a second vehicle (99 Buick) to save fuel on my 90 mile daily commute, but even it is strictly serviced and kept in tip-top shape. Some people seem to purchase these expensive cars simply because they can afford the risk of costly repairs as a result of abuse. To be that wealthy must be nice. But as frugal as I am, even if I could afford a car like this, I would still work to ensure that it lasts a few generations.

It amazes me that these cars survive at all with the abuse that so many of them endure. Surviving upwards of 50k miles is even more amazing! I really want to own one one day just for the experience that you are having with it! What car guy doesn't want to do a huge rolling burnout?! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇

Wow Hoovie! This is my old car. The accidents are from when it got used in takeovers and about 51k miles are from burnouts and donuts. I plucked my sweet speakers. I plan on using them in my new EV Challenger to upgrade the exhaust noise. Also none of that is true.

If you can fix the audio issues (missing speakers), you can drop in a newer UConnect without needing to program anything, Carplay is nice to have. It's a super easy mod to do and I'd 100% recommend it. That said, that car is ROUGH. I seriously wonder what the owner did to make the interior look like that. Worst part is that you need a whole new front fascia at the very least, and maybe a new right front fender. Looks like the mounting studs on the fascia were ripped out. Also surprised to see that it doesn't look like it got the Harmon/Kardon speaker system. It's quite decent for a factory system, but it won't win a SPL battle

Those yellow strips on the splitter are really not "splitter guards", they are there to protect the plastic during shipping and they are supposed to be removed by the dealer. They are so well liked that dealers are just leaving them on and letting the customer decide what to do with them.

Hellcats were not the fastest or powerful filters of the era. There was the P47 Tunderbolt, The Corsair, and then came the ultimate fighter the P51 mustangs the best of WWII. I personally owned a few Mopars. Back in the late 70's. A 68 Roadrunner 383.then a 69 426 Hemi Roadrunner. And a 71 dodge Challenger RT SE. with a built up 440. THOSE WERE THE DAY. Almost bought a demon Challenger a couple years ago. But with age comes wisdom. As even with a prefect driving record. Only one accident in 5 decades witch wasn't my fault I was hit and runed .

I drove the Challenger as a rental car and I have to say that it was the most unpleasant riding, the most claustrophobic for outward view, the least smooth drive train, and with it being a sporty car, difficult to climb in and out of. The fuel economy was worse than my sister's F-150. But, it did accelerate well. A one trick pony.
