I have been saving money for my dream car for a while and I a have a similar case but I ended up having the problems when I was driving, I bought a bmw M6 from a used car dealership with 28.2k miles on June 1st and 2 weeks ago it broke down and there was shrapnel sound with so many lights on the dash coming on... I took it to the garage that the warrentee suggested and the warrenty company said that they don't cover wear and tear, I realised the Rod bearings went on the car so they are going to list that as wear and tear so I'm 33k in the hole now, really been a bad 2 weeks for me :(

rod bearings shitting themselves at 30k miles isn't just "wear and tear". They should be fixing that for you, otherwise what's the point of paying for the warranty? Don't take it lying down, keep on hassling them every day and eventually they will cave.

Yeah the v10’s do that. Really messed up. Forgot the warranty company, there will be a clause in it saying maximum claim limit of £2000 or so etc. Go after the dealers. If you bought it from a car dealership limited company, they have insurance to cover losses like that. You have the legal right to a repair, or replacement or a refund minus the usage up to the point the car blew up. Don’t let them tell you otherwise. If a car develops a unexpected fault within 6 months of purchase then the law says the car is assumed to have been faulty as sale, unless the dealers can prove otherwise. Also don’t let them wind the company down if it were a small dealership they do that sometimes.

Save yourself some money and get an E46 or e92 M3, I recently traded 'up' to an F10 M5 and other than being fast it is a very boring car to drive. No sense of drama or occasion, feels VERY heavy, all it really has is a nice cabin and ridiculous speed WHEN it can put its power down, which it can't until atleast 30mph in hot dry conditions. Mines a family car so I understand the compromise but a dream car it is not!

@@fizzel5711 Didn't buy from BMW but it has full service history and only 37k miles so I slapped BMW warranty on it which costs me £95 a month. Pretty much all high performance cars have horror stories if you dig deep enough.

Devastatingly quick when you can put the power down, but in the UK even on the best tyres it hardly ever is able to. I have 2 kids though, and the space over my previous M cars is nice!

One of the first things to check. Airbags. Especially with that error, had the same on my cat car and someone had soldered resistors in where the airbags should have been replaced. And soldered a one on the battery BST. So check near the battery 2 wires probably cut and a resistor in place, if so, then check where all other airbags were bet there is more :( can’t wait to see it though, with a good team around you will be belting!

Get the alloys wheels powder coated gloss black. Got my VRS ones done at fast alloy wheel repair in Birmingham. Only charged me £140 for all 4 wheels, also put spares on for me to drive away as well.

1. Put the vin into autoauctions.io as the car should come up there. 2. TPS light might be needing a reset or one of the sensors in the wheels is broken as one not working would stop the whole system. 3. Airbag light needs resetting and if that doesn’t work then get the new codes read to see what’s causing it to not reset. Good luck on it calv I love M5’s so would love to see this in good shape.

My opinion. For a normal person it wouldn’t be a good buy, it would be a waste of money the amount of work that it needs, especially as it needs both mechanical and bodywork work doing to it. As you said in the video, it would make more sense to spend more and buy one that doesn’t need anything doing to it. But for you it’s good as you can get content out of it, and possibly sell it on when it’s a good car

It's cheap for a good reason.I used to know a guy that flipped cars for a living. He had no mechanical or repair knowledge at all. He used to get a car from the auction and just spray or use touch-up paint over the top of the rust (without even sanding it!). I got my first car off him cheap because it didn't run well. It ran like a dream once I adjusted the carburettor - he wanted to buy it back after that! Anyway Calvin, please can you drop the M5 off at my house once you've fixed it?
