I'm in the US and just sold my 2010 Pathfinder (original owner). I loved that vehicle and will be fun to reminisce as i watch your project.

First thing to do on a Pathfinder with that low mileage is to bypass the transmission oil using an independent radiator, avoiding the risk of the infamous SMOD. Other important thing to do is to delete the EGR. Doing this 2 things, you're going to enjoy for a long term, an excelent real 4x4. Cheers

Nice vehicle Andy, I cant believe you got it that cheap with only 65k miles on it, absolute steal. I cant wait to see how you kit it out. My buddy over here in the states has the Frontier which is the US version of the Navara. He ended up putting a topper on the bed and kitting it out for overlanding and says its one hell of a ride out in the mud. Cheers from over the pond my friend.

Andy, congrats on your vehicle. It must be exciting to work on a project auto. My advice to you is to make all your low-budget repairs first, then unto the bigger ones, like fluid leaks. Once you are finished with those, address the custom modifications you desire to do. Congrats and I look forward to more updates.

Loved my 2007 Pathy R51...Truck was tough as nails. Put some helper air bags in the rear, and a small lift on her. Worked and ran great the whole time I had it. To include several trips halfway across the US and back. Never complained. I remember there was a trick to the rear door (not working) I can't remember what it was though

Usually when the airbags go off it leaves a code in the module that cant reset. The module has to be replaced. I work at a body shop and almost every airbag replacement requires module replacement and reprogramming. It's usually in the center of the vehicle, under the center console or middle of the dash. I'm in Texas and luckily an airbag light will still pass inspection. It's considered a supplemental safety system.

That's wild. I just bought a 2005 Pathfinder and the struts on the boot window have gone, the back right door handle is knackered and the key was snapped too. I got mine dirt cheap because it has other issues. Paid £1400 but the previous owner gave me a list of issues he knew about and it was all small fixes I need to work on. Horn doesn't work, CV boot is deteriorated, track rods have slight play, chassis corrosion but it's "not considered excessive" on the MOT. Other than that it's all cosmetic stuff. Small dent on boot, scrapes and scratches, bit of rust around the wheel arches but all stuff I can fix on the driveway. Central locking doesn't work so I need to lock it manually which is meh, whatever. Oh and a hole in the drivers seat. Other than that it just needs a good clean. Previous owner was a stone mason and its absolutely caked with brick and stone dust. I've done what I can but there's just too much so I need to get it deep cleaned. One thing I will be doing just because of personal preference is I will be swapping the old suspension for something more solid. I find these cars ride a bit soft and bouncy as standard so I'm gonna get that stiffened up a bit at some point. 138k miles, engine is absolutely solid, pulls like a train and as an added bonus I got a free tube of sterident in the glove box, win win lol

We have a 2010 and the seats all do fold flat. Depends on which latch you pull. And there is a flap that unvelcros to cover the space between flattened seat rows. So because it all folds flat there is 6’ room from back door to middle seat which goes vertical behind front seats. You can also do any 60/40 split. My teenage son slept well in our car and the rest of us popped up a gazelle (stored in roof box) - so a very quick set up/take down. Best part though is my Pathfinder (camp kitchen) Chuck box that fits behind 3rd row angled seat. Chuck box back follows back seat angle. Stove fits in the deepest bottom shelf, pots/bowls/dishes next shelf up and then the top row is the smallest depth and holds utensils, spices, cups, etc… First season with the Chuck box kitchen was a big success.
@SMafam5 Жыл бұрын
And with the 3rd row seat up in front of kitchen there’s a “wall” that gives our big pup her own cozy space in the 3rd row - on a flat squar-ish piece of plywood and foam.

We drove an 05 for 12 years. Loved our pathfinder. One word of advise is to put a separate transmission cooler on it and get the transmission lines out of the radiator. The radiator will deteriorate and shoot antifreeze in your transmission and explode it. It costs around $7500 for a new one. Ask me how I know.

Nice truck Andy .. Iv been a car enthusiast since i passed my driving test in 1978 , and owned a lot of cars in that time. As iv got older though im more into vans/trucks these days ,cars don't really interest me as much Iv owned my 03 plate vauxhall astra van for 13 years (the longest iv kept a vehicle) .and about 5 years ago converted it into a one man stealth camper ,it does the job well for solo camping and blends in well undetected. Its been super reliable and great on diesel ⛽

Good morning. Nice vehicle. I have the same model. Just to give you a heads up. That model had a recall on a transmission sensor. Probably not that expensive. But it slowly leaked antifreeze into my transmission. A new transmission cost 4800 American dollars to repair. I did not get the recall in the mail like most people may have. I enjoy watching your videos. And I couldn’t believe you bought a car just like the one my wife drives. Have your mechanic look at the transmission fluid I’m assuming and make sure there’s nothing else in it. Good luck with your vehicle can’t wait to see you modify it.

I got a new one of these in 2006 all bells and whistles plus a few extras on the sound system and bodywork. 17mpg was the best I got out of it . I sold it 8 months later with trashed tires at 8000 miles as they like to chew them up . Actually Nissan Weston super mare sold it for a £1 profit on the exchange price because they couldn’t sell them anymore because of the consumption and build quality. I did exchange it for a Nissan 350z soft top which did better on the fuel surprisingly but about the same on tires but much more fun going up and down cheddar gorge .
