I've been saying this for a while to pretty much everyone -- these electric cars are 100% disposable. There is nothing 'green' about them. They're filled with toxic metals and have a very limited lifespan, at which point they're not going to be worth fixing in the slightest. Nobody wants 15 year old electronics or computers, and the battery packs begin losing their efficiency the minute they're powered on. It's absurd. On the other hand, a machine can be always be fixed. Always. It may get harder to find parts, and some improvisation may be required, but you'll always be able to fix a machine. It can last forever if properly cared for. That's just a simple fact. So the question is -- what's really better for the planet? A machine that can last 30+ years with maintenance, or a disposable vehicle that's maybe good for 10 years before it's scrapped? The oil that comes out of the ground and is burned, or the toxic heavy metals that are mined and then buried in landfills a short time later? Electric cars are a scam, period. They have their uses, and they'd be a decent option in a free market depending on the use case. But the fact that a 100% transition to electric is being dictated by the global governments is absurdly backwards and frankly terrifying.
@system11yt
@system11yt Жыл бұрын
The concept of electric motor powered vehicles is old and actually completely fine - it's the power source here which is the issue. Big, heavy, expensive, short lived, despite what proponents say there really isn't any recycling of note going on. Not at all green. The hydrogen powered EVs look to have been the correct solution but the green lobby has most governments and car makers looking at battery electric with no regard to alternatives.
@Dr.TJ_Eckleburg
@Dr.TJ_Eckleburg Жыл бұрын
@@system11yt The limitation is the point -- they want people driving less capable vehicles, and that's what we're getting with the battery-electric cars. More control, less liberty. Hydrogen-electric was far too capable -- in fact, as a solution it was the best possible scenario, because it actually improved on the efficiency of the combustion engine. And that's why the global government is ignoring it. They want us driving limited-range, networked electric pods.
@TheDarrenJones
@TheDarrenJones 8 ай бұрын
@@Dr.TJ_EckleburgThe physics of the situation would disagree with you. Hydrogen is not a viable fuel for vehicle use for storage and production reasons. You'll expend 3-5 times as much energy to get the same work done, and that's without any other losses factored in. And burning it is a worse idea than using it in a fuel cell for reciprocating piston engines.

You are correct - Tesla wants you (like Apple) to buy a new car or at least a new battery - it seems like their default answer to anything... but compared to the rest of the world £17k is one of the cheapest. One rule for this EV is when charging the 12v battery - you take it out of the car and you never ever charge it while it is plugged into the car - it likes to fry stuff. If this was Germany (but I also ask) 2 months outside the expiry of the warranty they can not refuse to replace the part under warranty - I will ask if they reconsider under EU laws - case laws say anything that dies just out of warranty is unreasonable and must be replaced free of charge

He spent 7K and with the battery swap this Tesla cost 24K but with a new battery. Still good deal. Ratarossa has bad luck. Batteries could last longer. I am going to buy a second hand Tesla one day and i will save up all the money i would ussually pay on gas or other cost to save up in case the battery or screen dies.

Bottom line is, look at phones and laptops. Charge for ages, run down fairly rapidly in use. Its the same with cars. All electric cars. I cant believe people think its a good idea when they are always having issues with batteries in phones, bikes, scooters and the like. Story the other day was of the same sort of battery being charged for a bike and it catching fire and it burnt the house down and killed the poor blokes wife. Every day now you read of stories like this and yet people keep pushing these stupid battery EVs.... Its going to go the same way as the Dieselgate debacle of the Gordon Brown years, where they pushed the cars as being green and eco friendly when everyone with a brain knew they were not that clean. So people went out and bought them due to incentives, then all of a sudden they realized they were wrong and reversed course, while waking huge taxes back on them and making it more or less impossible to sell on the cars. Just stupid. But thats the World we live in today....England is a total mess and nothing has improved since then but got worse. I would love to see many many idiots pay a lot of money for lots of EVs then all try to charge them at once this coming winter and watch the National Grid collapse under the strain...the excuses and comedy would be hysterical....

Try flipping it with a forklift and see if it goes up like a Hammonds EV did on that hill climb. Then use the results to prove or disprove all the issues they have. Great change on content. I am sure you could work with an EV specialist to get the battery pack repaired/replaced with a used one

If Tesla were in any way bothered about the environment, why do they build such big cars?

He is the best signal provider in the market. Knowledgeable, level headed (no loss like some other traders who recently jumped on the bandwagon).

Gee this hardly sounds like a really shitty marketing scheme and is hardly suspicious at all lol.

Different price bracket but still relevant... Expensive e-bikes will be worth nothing when the motor/battery start wearing, whereas normal bikes last more or less forever. This battery powered revolution is doomed to fail.

Tesla told me the same thing, but they were lying. If your car has the first generation battery it has a Fuse cover on top of the battery that is likely rusted through, letting water into the battery. If the car is a rear engine only model, you can check it without removing the battery. You can replace the fuse cover, dry out the battery, and then the isolation lockout can be released by Tesla, or a third-party shop
