I remember in 1952 our neighbor Albert Barnes bought two allis chambler square bailers. Was shipped knockdown. He has two days to get them off the flatbed railcar in town. All neighbors came to help, then tow them 14 miles to farm. Barnes put up big crlebration meal/square dance waaaay into the night. The two bailers are still working (they have sequential vin #'s) his grandson has one and i have the other. Both are across yhe road from each other (i bought my farm from Albert in 1987 when he decided to sell off west side of highway). NO computers or electronics simple to with/work on.

I happen to be a guy who is now seventy five, lives in alaska and appreciates a farmer. You started farming when corn went in your belly or the livestocks belly... not in the fuel tanks. I worked on heavy equipment, diesel stuff mostly connected with logging or construction. I married a girl from Kansas and she did not like alaska so she moved to N. Carolina to be with mom back in 84.... haven't heard from her since... hope she is okay. I never remarried as dating and wrenching time just don't coincide with each other as they both demand all of your attention/LOL

Mr.Goodpliersparts, the 1955 Ford you purchased, shown at 2:26 and 37:26, is a Fairlane, with exception of the blue rear door. Thank you for posting this video. On a side note, I remember when my Uncle purchased a new one in 1955, and how thrilled I was to ride in a brand new car; I was 15 years old.

Years ago I used to follow a farm disposal outfit in Colo. AAAR@J Randy Smith auctioneer. He had a big lug of a hawker keeping tabs on the bidders, he chewed tobacco furiously and would inform " your in" or "your out". The problem was it sounded like "urine" every single time he said it, causing lots of the crowd to crack up. A 10 hour day of this was beyond surreal. This outfit reminded me of those times, roaming auction companies are like the carnival. Good fun, thanks

I thought there were some real bargains at this sale. The car that I found most interesting, was the Hudson coupe. I haven't seen many in my long life, and that one, was nicely preserved.
@mr.goodpliers698824 күн бұрын
The Hudson was my favorite car there. Unfortunately the dash was in bad shape because the windshield was missing for decades. It ran but smoked. Lots of work to rebuild that straight 8.

@@mr.goodpliers6988 That is a pity, because the body looked great for a survivor. The other vehicle I liked, was the Diamond T. When I was a kid in Western Canada in the fifties, I was an army cadet, when we required transport, we rode in Diamond T, FWD, and International, stake trucks.

The second Ford was a 55 Fairlane not a Customline. the right hand rear door was from a 56 Customlone so it had a Customline stamped into the side stipe. I really enjoy these video's, I'm Australian but have a passion for 50s 60s American cars and owned many, getting a few miles up myself now so I only have two.

Have you ever seen a Plymouth Cranbrook 1953or 54 2 door at auction?
@johnellis848014 күн бұрын
It just seemed like everything sold cheaper than usual, perhaps a case of too much stuff or not enough bidders bothered to drive a long way. Probably would have done better with internet bidding. I haven't seen an Edsel in years then saw a 59 in good shape in a field in Ohio last week and now this one. The one in Ohio was in very good shape don't know it's history but it hadn't been in the field too many years. I' probably never finish the projects I have so I enjoy seeing things sell far enough away that I'm not tempted to attend the sale!
