I've never actually been hands-on with one of these, only my second time ever seeing one. Fun little story in the early to thousands. Somebody rented one of these and went full on grand theft auto with it. Police were unable to do anything and powerless to stop it. I forget how many million dollars in damage. The man caused during his rampage. Was in Halifax guy was mentally unstable and was trying to commit suicide by cop. Problem was, the cops were no match for this super SUV. It's part why they ended up ordering a special armored vehicle for the department. I forget how many cop cars. This guy total bouncing them off like little bugs when they tried to do their Trained pit maneuvers and so forth. This guy blissfully just went from vehicle to vehicle swerving right and left, hitting everything in his path. They basically had to some degree box. The guy in to one part of the city and wait for him to run out of gas or get stock. I forget if he ended up getting one of the wheels jammed on something or ran out of gas. In the US. Obviously they would've just riddled it with bullets at their earliest convenience but being Halifax, Canada. The cops don't do that kind of thing here. I Thinking in the US, this guy would've been so dead in minutes.

I was going to say that if this happened in the US, the local agency would probably have set up spikes at some point to try and slow the thing down. If that didn't work, depending on the agency would get an armored truck to box it in to a degree. However, the most simple option would be to shoot the guy, which is sad to say in itself. The reason I say it with confidence, and like how you said, is due to the fact that if someone hits cops in an obvious attempt to hit them, or try to hit them, lethal force will be authorized, as he is not only now putting the normal people at risk, he is also putting officers at risk.

The average car has a cooling system capacity of about 2-3 gallons give or take. The 7.3 Super Duties/Excursions have 5 gallon cooling system capacities. The average car has an oil pan capacity of anywhere from 4 to 8 quarts give or take. The 7.3 Super Duties/Excursions hold 15 quarts in their oil pans plus about another 3 quarts running through the motor and high pressure oil pump reservoir. So it's no wonder this engine stays so cool. It's got so much self-cooling capability it's almost insulting to even need a water pump. In fact, there's an aftermarket thermostat made for these engines that are rated hotter than stock for certain applications.
