Our 2003 Ford E350 with 7.3 has over a million miles on it still runs great. We know it is true mileage because we bought it brand new.

Oh Deer you mean it the 7.3 powerstroke was built by ford definitely their most reliable engine ever made the power strokes after this were terrible until the new 6.7. Their middle 2000 truck motors really seemed to struggle from what I know
@Fz-bo7sm4 жыл бұрын
always ferda 6.0 powerstrokes that have been bulletproofed are as good if not better than the 7.3, way better transmission too and 6.4 are very good motors if you delete the dpf
@Fz-bo7sm4 жыл бұрын
always ferda the reason 6.4 blow up is because unlike dodge and gm they didn’t add an extra fuel injector iron the down pipe so all the fuel for a dpf regen has to go through the motor causing a huge amount of heat with then melts pistons

Hey Hoovie! I'm a Ford diesel engine master! I have spare parts including glow plugs, under valve cover harnesses and gaskets. Happy to throw them your way! Also I'd just do the glowplugs on the drivers side. No point in pulling off the other valve cover. Just do 2,4,6, and 8. Take off the other side when one of those go bad, the labor doesn't really over lap. Also valve cover leaks are super uncommon. The weird shape of the valley and the drain in the back will run down behind the valve covers, your leak is very likely in the valley of the motor at the intake boots, icp sensor, or HPOP. If you or the wizard need anything don't hesitate to reach out!

Only problem is? That's how you herniate a disc and then he is FUBAR for the rest of his life. The thing is: doesn't matter how much you work out, how strong you are, the discs are softer and lubricate your vertebrae so they don't make contact one another and they have a tendency to crush or squash. Once that happens, they are never the same. In some cases they'll replace it with a teflon one but still. One and done.

Went to Ford and bought a re-manufactured alternator for about $200.00 and problem solved. Later.....some douche bag stole my Cat-converter and jacked up the wires to one of my 02 sensors causing the number 17 fuse (under the hood) to intermittently blow....another 6 mos. to track that down....but for the last 2 years it again runs perfect...if people would just leave it alone! The owner of an independent shop I use has a 6.0 X as a weekend race car hauler. He describes it as one of the biggest pieces of shit on the planet. Even after dumping massive amounts of time, parts and money at it, it will still leave him stranded at least one or twice a year. With eight bays full of techs. going 50 hours a week, he also has a lot of stories over the last two decades of gas and diesel superduties that literally broke customers financially. Particularly small contractors who struggled to cover the four figure bills for front end, transmission and engine issues. I had a new '03 with 75K on it in two years, when I had to have the rear torn down to flush it out and replace every bearing, after a Chineseum bearing failed and trashed everything. It was shipped from the factory with a front end that looked like it was assembled by drunks with a bucket of scrap hardware they found in a barn. When it was new, the dealer body shop had to pull everything but the hood and fenders, and carefully reinstall the front end so it didn't look like it was in a wreck. It was never damaged, just assembled by monkeys who couldn't give a shit. My shop eventually started advising all fleet customers to dump their 6.0s as soon as they hit 100K, and no longer had the factory motor warranty, since they were too expensive to operate after that. Eventually the Sprinter took the crown away from Ford, when it comes to building the biggest piece of shit of a commercial vehicle available in the states, but the 6.0 sure did some damage.

If you have somewhat of a decent mechanical skill and some tools, you can replace them yourself. As an owner of several 7.3 vehicles (two of them are excursions), you can replace them all in less than two hours. Just do yourself a favor and buy the engine parts straight from International. It is cheaper than Ford, because Ford just reboxes or relabels International/Navistar parts.

@@tonycartland8757 I have actually already purchased the kit from International actually. :-) We have an e450 van, so the engine is a little harder to get to, which is way I was looking for a mechanic. Best thing you have bought yet! Keep that thing, it will come in handy if you plan on having a big family and you want to take road trips also.

A friend of mine has a F250 with the 7.3 and has 700,000 miles on it and it's still going strong with the original not rebuilt engine. You made a great purchase!!!!! Also I think that is the same shop Crazy D the tractor man uses!.

Totally unrelated to this video but you deserve more subscribers. I watch Doug, Tavarish, etc. but I mostly look forward to your video's! Keep it up and good luck!

I love how your intro music stopped as soon as she closed the door right when you got to the Wizards shop

If you're not thrilled with the handling, max out the caster. 5 degrees I think. KYB monomax works well on these. Stock they have a very short travel suspension. If your front springs sag you'll be hitting the bump stops frequently. I'm putting new springs in mine. It will be lifted about 4 inches and have more travel. Enjoy the King of Suv's

Gotta love how it’s “everything that’s broken” not “everything that’s wrong with it”

@@p_mishev Right, like these guys are going to come in with hitherto unknown 7.3 or Excursion issues.

Filip Mishev one means “whatever needs fixing”, and the other means “whatever makes the Excursion look, feel, or perform like shit now or in the future”.

@@newfoundrooski Yeah but if something is broken on it that means that there is something wrong with it and if there's something wrong with it that most likely means that there's something broken on it.

I have an 01 F 350 crew cab dually 4x4 7.3 that I bought new in 2001. 188,000 miles and still runs like new. Replaced the glow plugs and one injector since new. (Hoses and belts of course, regular wear and tear.)

For your steering issue. I have a 2000 superduty and had the same steering issue. There is a company thai makes a new steering gear box that uses needle bearings add an upgrade. This helps to take away that slop in the steering. Game changer for my truck.

Rear drive shaft has been installed backwards with the slide to the transfer won't really hurt anything except if the rubber dust boot gets a crack or home in it then it will more easily hold dirt and grit
