1:18 get yourself a mosaic pallet (doesn’t the bambu ams do end of roll use) or something to join roll ends to make multicolor parts for raw display or spray painting. Sell as a product or something. Roll end figurine or name signs (surely there will be a teacher out there that would like a sign made from “waste”… ) price it a little higher to counter the time spent dealing with each roll end. Aside from wasting good filament and the enviro considerations. It’s wasted material you’ve paid for and you may as well use it up - but perhaps the time to deal with roll end vs what you recover is not worth it. As you have Bambu’s with all their waste perhaps you could get a filament extruder (cnc kitchen had a good one albeit another pricey) and recover full rolls.. Alternative to landfill - donate to a local school or maker space.

Whenever you add remove or change the position of the ams on a printer you should rerun a calibration. The center of gravity change can affect the harmonics and input shaping settings. It may not seem like a big deal but it can be. Some people even re run calibration when they change the printers location/ orientation on a table.

One minor tip, with those overture rolls when they get lighter they seem to have problems spinning in the ams as they get too light. I found sticking something in the middle to weigh them down a bit lets you use the last bit of filament, and eliminates the line you sometimes get (which happens when the ams takes longer to load the spool due to it not spinning correctly). It's not foolproof but helps a bit. I tend to use the ones with very little on them for any small items that only have a color change right on the last couple of layers.

I can google information but thought I would get your input, it also shows KZbin you are having interaction. From one content creator to another. What advantages do the risers provide and why do you like them so well?
@macymakes3d5 ай бұрын
I put them on my p1ps because the ptfe tubes and wired were rubbing the bottom of my AMS and causing problems. The riser helped give some clearance for the tube and wires. Also, if you have an enclosed printer it will allow you to open the top glass and vent the printer. The ones I printed are nice, but there are others that have storage compartments which seem pretty cool.

I love the A1. I think my wife would kill me if I buy any more printers though! Hah. With that leftover filament. There is another KZbinr Morley Kert that about a year ago did a series where he'd take a portable 3d printer setup to a park or Cafe and people could bring their broken items in and he'd repair them for free using parts printed on his 3d printer. Might be able to reach out to him and see if he is still doing it or if he knows anyone else that is doing it and then donate all the left overs to them. Might be able to do a bit of partnering to drive some additional traffic to your KZbin channel if you're donating the stuff you're throwing out anyway and they'll do a shout out.

Impressive Macy. I have an Anycubic Kobra Max and I3 Mega. Now also have the A1 (not unboxed yet). I started using my Kobra Max (Dec-23) which then refused to print after a months of prints. I changed the hot end 4 times, checked the cable plugs around the head, check the cables for kinks and auto leveling would throw up errors which made no sense for what I could see. Tried everything I could find on the net with no success and then in my frustration of trying fixing it I ordered another Kobra Max this time the '2' version, however It dawned on me much later (after I order the new one) that maybe the plug was the issue and so I re-flowed the cable socket and wham it works again. Damn need to be more free thinking before ordering new stuff. Now I have been successful so far with the fixed Max and hopefully the A1 will add more capabilities to my growing list of printers. My question for you is how do you keep the filaments dry enough for printing after they are opened, noting the A1 and the non-AMS printers both have exposed filaments. Do you intend to buy a pre-made version or are looking to build you own?

I only use PLA and the moisture doesn't seem to bother it too much. I keep the rolls in dry boxes when they're not printing but I'm not sure how much that even helps really.

And if you’re not comfortable with that, for whatever reason, there’s a vertical stand you can print that works really well and is even more stable than the stand that came with the Lite.
