A real glock, when the slide is locked back, will also have a rattle in the barrell because it uses a tilted barrel design. When a round is fired and the slide goes backwards the barrel rises and the chamber lowers to allow the next round to cycle into the chamber. The tolerances on the slide have to be loose to allow this to happen which creates the rattle but it drastically increases reliability of the cycling the rounds from the magazine.

The barrel on the real Glock and other semi auto pistols go back a fraction of an inch with the slide when fired to stop half the gases and energy blowing out of the ejector port. The gases produced follow the path of least resistance. The barrel locks onto the slide momentarily to force all the energy forward out of the barrel before it locks in place and the slide strips off the next round.

Bought my 17 Gen 4 last year and I absolutely love it. I treat it like the real thing and even holding it properly for muscle memory, because one day I'll hopefully be able to try the real thing at a firing range. Sadly not in UK but europe or USA. Due to the mag and slide being metal (aluminium) the overall weight feels close to the real thing. My main reason for this model is that its 'field strippable'. Umarex GLOCK 17 Gen 4 is the best of the bunch!

Thanks for the vid Justin. Really good to see someone else as enthusiastic as I am over Umarex’s replica Glocks. One thing I noticed that you didn’t mention was anything about being able to field strip the Gen 4 down? I recently ordered, what I thought was, a Gen 4. However, when it arrived it was a Gen 5 and I realised it didn’t do all the things I was looking for, such as stripping down, lock back on empty, and the things you’ve just gone through. To be honest I was actually very disappointed in the difference between the Gen 5 and 4. I hadn’t done nearly enough research before jumping into the purchase, and the website I went to didn’t specify which Generation it was. If I had done my research I would have known that there isn’t, to my knowledge anyway, a dual ammo Umarex Gen 4. I immediately organised a return, and I’m now waiting on delivery of a Gen 4. The only downside is that the Gen 4 is BB only. A small price to pay though, in my opinion anyway. I just hope that the Gen 4, firing BBs, will be as accurate as my Beretta PX4 Storm dual ammo. The Beretta was less than half the price of the Glock, so I really hope so. Thank you again.

Glad you managed to get the one you wanted! You may be disappointed in its accuracy and power. It’s not awful but it’s certainly not best in class. For me that’s the one let down by I overcome it by using it at a shorter distance. Also aiming at larger targets like tin cans you won’t notice any issues but if you plan to do more challenging shots at smaller targets then it won’t be that great. It’s a plinker and it does that very well.

You can take the slide off the gen 5 43 cal as well as the grips. It will shoot everything from paintballs, pepper balls, steel and aluminum. I love mine. And they send a little knob to release the leftover CO2 from the back where everyone keeps saying not to push to release the leftover CO2. Also there's a pierce to puncture mag so you can store it with a CO2 forever and just tap the bottom of the mag and your ready to go... 🤟😎👉💨❤️

I've fired the real thing twice at a shooting range just outside of Kyiv (Kupol shooting. fantastic place !), and loved it. Decided to treat myself to this replica during one of the lockdown periods, and it honestly feels just like the real thing. Love it, I just wish the did a pellet version as well as BB's !

Justin , i had the same rattle on my G17 easily cured just strip it and put a small piece of soft foam inside the top of the slide , regarding the magazine you can undo the gold ring around the Co2 release clean it all and i put some vasaline on the internal seals and it stopped the magazine leaking.

i bought the gen 5 and took it back for the gen 4 spare mags to smooth it over.. it was not made very well..and the trigger didnt restore easily light thin tinny metal, gen 4 all day

I had a 8mm blank firer Glock many years ago and no matter what I tried, it would constantly have a FTF and FTE. The real McCoys MUST retain some sort of open tolerance in regards to final lockup. This is one of the reasons why a 4" barrel auto accuracy will never amount much to past 25 yards.

Accuracy fine and range what you would expect. Most Co2 pistols are only good for about 8-10 yards really.

I think you can only use umarex magazines in this. If you swap out the seals on the retainer screw to some replacement ones you can get from eBay it should eradicate a lot of leaking issues… still not perfect unfortunately because it’s just not a great design on the seals in this gun. But it’s fairly cheap and quick job to replace damaged seals as and when you need to that’s the only solution I’ve found.

depends how you treat it. It should last as long as you want. don’t press the pressure release button i used that a few times and my main seal went stiff and leaked after 3 weeks. i replaced it and had no issues for over 2 months and i shoot this gun A LOT. the good news is if your seals go they are cheap to replace and i have a video showing you how to do it.

Nothing to worry about, it can’t be heard by anyone inside their house (unless they have a window open). if they’re outside they will hear it though, it’s quite an aggressive ‘pop’ but they won’t know it’s gun unless they can see you. Also if shooting metal targets like tin cans that’s loud too. If my neighbours are out spending their time in their garden I won’t shoot, I only shoot when they’re inside to not be a nuisance.

I come with an update. I bought the gen 3 in the spring and the gen 4 just a few days ago. The difference is absolutely huge in terms of realism and feeling. The gen 4 it's very solid, very well built.. has the full blowback which gives you chills and satisfaction if you're a lover of gun realism. The mag is just perfect and looks almost like the real thing. Gen 4 is filled strippable, unlike any other CO2 powered Glocks. Shoots great. Love it. A chance being given, I would buy one more gen 4 to enjoy it with double pleasure.

The mags are poor design, they use some sort of plastic instead of rubber as a seal so it goes hard and stops working very quickly even if you use gun oil. mine started leaking after 2-3 weeks. Save yourself a lot of money and just replace the seals next time you can order a replacement from eBay and it’s better than the umarex ones mine hasn’t leaked since. I agree. Having had mine a while now I’ve been through multiple seal replacements and the power even for a co2 pistol is a bit weak it means plinking from 10m isn’t really fun the bb starts to dip before your target. I find I have to come in to about 8m or less. Sweet spot is 5-6m. I’m going to get the t4e gen 5 so I can practice from further away.

This replica checks all the boxes as far as it replication, its cosmetics and aesthetics. Just beautiful done in replication of the gun. The looks are just outstanding. In this video, He's showing a beautiful package with gorgeous packaging materials that comes with the gun. This IS NOT THE PACKAGING CASE ANYMORE. IT DOES NOT COME WITH THIS TYPE OF PACKAGING AT ALL!!! WHATS UP UMAREX??? WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING!!!!!! With one exception , the packaging that mine came with was absolutely dreadful. A nightmare if you will. A complete and total deal breaker when it comes to a collectors point of view. MY Glock 17 gen 4 steel bb gun came in the most horrific plastic-splintered sharp knifed edged clamshell packaging. To get this packaging off and away from the gun was extremely difficult and unsafe for anyone under the age of 14. You must use a very sharp blade to penetrate this hard splintered plastic encasing. Once you finally get the atrocious packaging away from the gun, its parts, and its manual, you only hope nothing gets damaged in the process. Once you've passed that huge obstacle, I was very pleased with the gun. You cant tell the real life counterpart,, from the replica bb gun apart if they were on the table together. Unless of course you pick them both up. Very well made bb gun. Performance: Mediocre at best. Average. Shoots about 300 FPS on a fresh Co2 Cartridge for the first 10 -15 shots. dies down fairly quickly. It does lock back after the last shot. This gun is for more of the experience air gunner. Reason being, you will have to work on it some. The slide will need some sanding , shaving and modifying for a nice full smooth cycle. The accuracy can be improved a little by some tightening, but to be honest, its not great. Its a simple plinker of cans in the backyard. Backyard friendly. There's an under belly safter under the barrel of the gun. You get about 20-25 shots per cartridge.with some power (300fps) Common fails: outer barrel breaks after time. $10 replacement on EVIKE. Blowback Nozzle, some common springs for the housing. Pro's: It has a hop up system that you don't normally see on a .177 bb gun (wheel) Super strong construction. Strong blowback recoil. Field strippable Fully enclosed heavy duty 19 round magazine.

I'm actually quite happy being able to set up some cans in my own home and plink away at them until my heart is content, without annoying my neighbours (although my next door neighbour can actually hear if I am shooting, he's not bothered by it though.) nor do I have to go to a firing range, my hallway is my firing range. having fired actual firearms both as an Air Cadet and the 2 times I have been in the US I don't find it anymore exciting. they make a louder noise and are capable of killing, but I don't want to kill anyone! I treat my Co2 guns as I would a "real steel" gun.

@@AstrogeoJay just shooting targets is not all the fun. besides you can shoot it in the forest with no complaints from anyone. me personally the most fun comes from shooting soft targets like sand bags or ballistics gel with different calibers. and also using 12.7mm BMG to shoot concrete and watch it penetrate is satisfying. just to mention shooting 22lr ruger pistols, it is heavenly fun. and shooting pumpkins with it especially. i might be crazy but whatever.

You’re confusing airsoft gun laws with air guns. Do you need a ukara or firearms license in the UK to own this? Can this be ordered online without having it two tone? Thanks

no license required you just need to be over the age of 18 and have photo id. this is a low powered air gun, not a firearm or airsoft replica (even though airguns are more powerful than airsoft) they don’t need to be two toned, if you order online it will be delivered to your local gun store who will verify your id. some registered firearms dealers will deliver to your door at an extra cost but they will verify your id on the doorstep before handing the gun over and you will need to sign for it they will not leave it or have anyone other than the buyer sign for it. One thing to be aware of is you carry this in public without good cause, brandish or threaten someone with it, then you will be charged under firearm laws. I suggest googling the laws of air guns in whatever country you’re in before buying one to be safe.
