Just ordered one in a different coumtry, the shop will de-restrict it to 20 joules. Joules are not restricted where i live but i'm not alowed to use it for self defense.. Yeah right.. (The police is not there to protect you but clean up your remains)

I bought mine modified off of eBay and it shoots 8 gram balls at 50+ joules.

Your absolutely right!. the overly restrictive gun laws are the problem. yes a court would probably interpret that you bought the weapon for “intent” well… yeah, why else would a person buy one… to mount it on their wall like an ornament?, no its obviously for self defense and if a robber chose to “intentionally” pre meditatively attack your home, that should negate any claims they have to then sue, but the problem is common sense has gone out the window and the justice system is being controlled by pro criminal activist lawyers!

As a member of a jury I would fully understand if someone upgraded a gun from bruising power to rib breaking power, considering that winter clothing would be enough to significantly reduce these gun's effectiveness, and they still have no penetrating power if you're using impact rounds (not spiky ones), unless you get a very unfortunate headshot

Question: In the Netherlands, these .50s are available at 11 Joule but comparable laws apply regarding “reasonable” defence, so I wonder about your opinion on body-shots - will this marker gun be efficient enough to cause sufficient shock (or rather: fear) in potential Tango folks? Example: Somebody enters your apartment in order to steal some valuable items. I wonder if the Umarex have enough impact to really hurt and to maybe even cause some shock based on the sound (imagine not expecting an armed defender and just hearing a loud pop followed by the sting). What is your take on that, Sir?

I am from Spain and here we have the same problem with the damn woke laws. The issue, however, is not the laws, but the imperative need. I prefer to follow common sense. If an individual comes in to do harm, I must first and foremost protect myself and my family.

We're in a time when everyone should be able to carry to protect yourself. The government and the law don't care about our safety so why should we care about the law? Too many stabbings and attacks happening in the uk and when it does happen it's usually covered up.

In Italy if you want to buy the 11 Joules version you would need a firearm permit just like when you're buying a firearm. The version that you can buy without a firearm permission is the <7,5 Joule. They're both useless against an armed threat but if you use the pepper balls and you're well-trained to hit the face of the threat, you can be effective with that (unless the attacker is wearing a face protection against chemical weapons).

Great video. It seems to be an endless discussion. We are in Brazil and o lot of people agree its work fine for personal defense and another lot of people just say its a toy. My opinion.....a firegun is better. But if you kill an intruder, you will pay 100K dollars with Lawyer and.... spend a long time um prision.

I live in the US. I just bought another the intrubuster. It's not modded but every other less lethal I have is modded. Man reasonably you should be able to save yourself,your family, and enend belongings.

Get the spring upgrade from air funners and it increases the power output by 15-20%. It's a $10 spring for the mag since there is no air manifold or anything in the gun part itself you can mod to increase power.

So we live in a world where an attacker has more rights than you, in your home. If an attacker enters my home, I'll use ANYTHING to defend myself.

These type of non lethals is always more of a deterrent in my opinion. It gives more of a brief wtf moment to allow someone the time to escape, or close the distance through minor pain infliction or intimidation. And some people and families cannot have firearms for whatever reason. It’s also fun to use, and maybe a training step for those who want to upgrade to firearms later. Thoughtful review mate. I have a Gen 5 .43 cal. I love it. Great power and accuracy perfectly acceptible over 25yards. Better accuracy with rubber or nylon balls and if you design your backstop carefully and use the right type of materials, you can trap the balls undamaged and use them many times, which makes it cheaper to run. I don't paintball as a game, so am not fully up on regs regarding .43 cal guns. The speed and impact are certainly 'flippin fast' and impressive on the Gen 5! That may make it out of bounds for some grounds.... I honestly don't know but have heard rumours. As for target and tin bashing or box punching, its amazing fun. I have not had issues with paint balls bursting except for a single instance and it was simple to clean up. As for not being able to see into the chamber..... you should ALWAYS drop the mag on any firearm which needs a Chamber inspection or has any malfunction. As soon as you do so, the chamber is fully visible . Also, with this type of power source and ammo combo, as soon as the mag is out, you cannot shoot yourself in the face or anyone around you! If you leave the mag in and start poking and pointing to see what malfunction you might have, you are going to shoot yourself or someone or something you didn't want to. Make no mistake, this thing will kill you if you use nylon or rubber or rubber/metal ball anmmo. Its lethal. Just train as you would exactly as using a live 9mm Glock. ALWAYS wear ballistic eye protection when using it. I also have a gen 5 pellet version air pistol which I have only used once.....having tried the .43 cal version, I am selling the other!! Its a fantastic air pistol, but the paintball marker is just incredible in comparison and is more like using the real article. Have fun and stay safe and legal folks !

Question: What magazine could be good for this model 5.8364? I am looking for spare mag but not this one from Umarex, it is leaking on top and I cannot seal it, new orings, grease etc not working. Any suggestions for compatible mag?

13 joules versions are available in the UK. As for legality. Only 7.5 joule allowed to be private owned without licence.

Justin, you are 100% wrong. Its just physics. The 13 Joules TR50 can take the Devil Spikes, the Maximum Power Killer and the CNC golden destroyers. So, when it comes to 130m/s speed with a really sharp and spiky bullet of 2 or 3 grams...believe me, you dont want to get even one of them....not 6 in a row. They DO penetrate skin for an inch at least.

I have the Umarex HDP50 and I jave removed the baffle, making it more potent. With ball bearings for ammo this gun is now pretty mean.

I have this same setup (scope and rifle) and my scope does not sit centered when its mounted on the rail. It sits slightly off to the left, the opposite side on which the rail screws are. Does this seem normal?

Love mine, 2.7d, easier on fuel than my 1.9tdi Transporter. If you want something cheap to run buy a civic. These are comparable to a 7 series or S class which will cost as much to maintain, maybe more. You can buy a DRL foglight kit which is easy to install.

I would say the standard one is pretty worthless for self-defense but mine puts out about at a hundred joules. I can kill a bear with mine. I originally got it for defense against dogs when I was walking my other one but as usual I took it overboard and had to get another one that I maxed out at about 30 jewels so it wouldn't kill the dog. I love mine but I heavenly modified it too

The law is called "stand your ground" and it's in place in 50% of the states in the US as well (as well as in many other countries in the world). This law, and I quote from WIkipedia: "provides that people may use deadly force when they REASONABLY believe it to be necessary to defend against certain violent crimes". The smaller details in the law vary from country to country/state to state, but you can't get away with anything in the US either, or maybe you can if you live in Texas.

The 50 Joule HDX I have works great for home defense. I do agree that a 7.5 or 11 Joule launcher isn't going to be that effective, especially if it's only a 50 caliber.

If we followed every Law made to the letter we would still be living in caves. We do what we have to do in a society where things are getting a bit sticky and home protection to a man with common sense has no boundaries or laws that will stop him doing the right thing. Got the MK2 version of this 13 Joules.... with the ZRams Ammo, I'm not going to increase the power, this thing is already pushing the limits, close quarters these things will fracture and lodge in bones, enough of these in some ones face and they will be going to the other side, need to treat this with respect always.
