Nah, only toyotas with disc rear brakes. My 1978 and 1979 toyota corolla sedans have a working handbrake (drum brakes on the rear) my 1986 toyota corona one works too, although with that one i had to lock the self adjuster in place as it was causing it to self adjust to far when you use it for drifting and caused the brake on the right hand side to drag after a few corners

If it wasn't for all the rust, I would say this is a worthwhile project. But geez, that's going to be a lot of work to repair. I've owned two corollas and kept one, which wasn't too far off from this hunk of beauty. Still, i'm glad you are reunited with what made your channel a crowd favorite. I’ve seen that kind of understeer before. Raise it up and soften the rear dampers a lot!! Toe in slightly. And refresh those front tires with some wd40 on a rag!

I believe it got most popular in the 80s/90s while these were the tuning decades and the opel manta's home was in our city bochum, where opel was producing :D there are still car meetings and the location is cool.

Perfect project for Origin Labo bumpers and wide fenders plus CF / FRP body parts. Nardi Deep corn steering wheel fixes the steering wheel issue. Just cut the spare tyre area off and replace with flat surface.

@@0xsergy The chassis is too far gone. The rust has probably compromised its structural integrity. He'd be lucky if the car doesn't snap in half at some point. It would need extensive fab work to clean up all the rust and weld plates over the holes to strengthen it and bring back some rigidity. And they're not rare at all, just expensive. And he doesn't live in the US.
