The valley pan issue is pretty easy to solve. I used to have an n62 and bimmerfix makes a kit to fix it. I installed it in a day and the car was perfect after that, no more leaks.

In my case, my 550i coolant issue was in the rear coolant cover located in top of the rear main seal. Once I serviced that, no more coolant issues.

Yo bimmer barn, i recently a couple months ago bought a 550i M-sport in pretty good condition and have had it as my daily, but I noticed that whenever I put it in sports transmission mode and sport mode and then like petal to the metal and floored it, the car would shift past redline (which is 6500 rpms) and it would shift around 6700-6850 rpms and it worries me a lot and makes it much harder for me to floor it because I'm worried about the car redlining before shifting to the next gear. I was hoping if you would know any solutions on how I could fix my car. I would really really appreciate and I can follow up with more info if needed

just finished a full bare-block and bare transmission case rebuild on my pre-lci 07 550i. The pass airbag light went away after driving it for a few miles.

You should do the euro lower dash on the e39. Once you know, the lines look so weird where the door meets the dash.

It’s an E60 M-Technic. Not just an MSport cosmetic package. You can tell by the side flares. It has the F1 (formula one) trim. The 550’s were actual M-Technic(I.e., MPerformance). The gear ratio, suspension, etc is M.

also chris you have to take off all the engine plenum covers, disconnect throttle body remove air intake, remove a ton of sensors , remove fuel rail and injectors, remove manifold then pressure test the engine you will see coolant leaking from the valley pan. check out my e60 restore video i got over the whole process while your in there check your knock sensors i just replaced both since one was fried from hot coolant that leaked on it

Looks like the priority would be maintenance and also you might have a faulty some sort of airbag module since it trigger almost all faults on every airbag which shouldn't be happening.

I have bought 2 of the E60 528i in the past 6 months and both had the same roof/trunk issues. The 1st one I painted myself, not the best idea but came out decent. Only issue was having to cut and polish the entire car afterwards because of the new vs old paint. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

@@TheBimmerBarn I used a private warehouse. It was supper clean and I had no issues with debris or trash in the paint. It was ideal but I was very satisfied with results. I will probably end up doing the same on the 2nd vehicle. I’m 6’6” so painting the roof was much easier than getting in and out of the car.

Hey I have a 02 525i m54 e39 I keep getting a 2 codes p0172 / p0175 rich on both banks / I put a new maf, new injecters , new plugs , new coil packs, new cam and crankshaft , valve cover gasket’s , turn on fine after two min idle drops and car shakes, I have headers on , straight pipe and no secondary air , delete cap off , don’t have time took it to mechanic and couldn’t find the problem, cold it be that I did not put gasket sealant

I think the airbag module has a malfunction. It is located under the center console. I had an e60 too and I couldn't clear the airbag codes because of that module. You should try replacing it but it also needs coding and then the errors will probably go off.

Yeah i think you have a good point. I could either try replacing one airbag, and see if one code goes away, or replace the module and hopefully all of them go away. Hopefully I don't have to buy a bunch of airbags 😅

@@TheBimmerBarn Try both of them, but I don't think that so many airbags are bad. Like as I know and found out on BMWs that I had, the airbag module might be bad. But if neither the module ore the airbags are bad maybe it's something wrong from the comfort module.

What a beauty Chris. And that's a complete steal man!. I think it has a 7-speed DCT as my 335 has. (when there is a square around the cluster gear indicator, it's a DCT). You should do a gearbox oil and filter change too! The valley pan is notorious on these engines. Dutch regards Nico. Ps. My bad Chris. The e60 never had a dct gearbox. I didn't know that.

This is not a DCT. The non-M E60's were only ever available in 6AT, SMG, or 6MT.

i have the same car in "Tiffenblau" (dark metallic blue) 2009. When it runs it's a beast. Been up on jackstands most of it's life between loving it i hate it. Gotta love the alternator bracket gasket (8 bucks) that costs 2k to install, for FCKS sake!

Hello, new sub here. Seems like you know the N62 engine pretty well. Im trying to locate the MAP sensor and can't find anything. I know where the MAF is but I've seen the MAP in some vehicles being cloged and want to check mine.

Hmm, sounds like you're referring to the differential pressure sensor at the back of the intake manifold. I had to change it on my old 545i, I think it was throwing a fault. You should be able to change it without removing the intake manifold, good luck! Part number 13628657300

It's a LCI model E60, so it has a slightly different transmission, and so a different shifter too. Applies to 2008+ if I'm correct.

I haven't seen it yet as it's in limbo so far. (Premier thing). But here's a question. If a car starts out as say a 2002 330CI then someone does a full swap with a written off 2005 M3 including engine, trans, rear end, full interior and exterior make over so it is identical to an M3 with all power and parts. Is it still a 330CI or is it now an M3?

I feel like you're telling me a riddle 😁 IMO, the car has had an "M3 Conversion" but it still says its a 330ci on the title. So it would probably be worth the same, or less to sell to a private party. Not a lot of value-added if you're just building the same car. Now a E46 touring with a full M3 Conversion is worth more than a standard M3 because of the rarity/custom nature of that swap. Again, just my opinion. Catch you at the Premiere, Greg!

i have an 08 BMW 550i m sport n62 check my channel bro, and its not a "fake m5" that is a quad diffuser mod with quad exhuast which is actaully dam expensive, to put it in perspective i paid 6200$ for my 08 550i m sport but of course the seller hid the coolant leak but i was refunded for parts. i did the valley pan myself since it was leaking. 800$ is a score is it a salvage title or something??
