Thanks everyone for watching! Loving this editor! And thank you for showing interest in DaVinci! At this time I am not going to ship out the license. The more I look into it, the more it just seems like a real logistical challenge. Maybe I will do some more work and we'll look into doing it in the future. Thanks for the support and see you in the next video! Go editing!!!

Great video Jake. I’ve been contemplating on getting the speed editor as well. Looking forward to your course too 😊

Awesome David! Thanks so much and yeah I am pretty stoked on it so far. Again, not necessary, but fun to buy tools that help with problems and I think this does overall make my interaction with the timeline a bit more fun than my right hand hot keys. But again, not a massive difference or win there

Brilliant video! Really like your style! Still very much a newbie to Davinci & the speed editor but trying to learn how to use them both. Was fortunate enough to pick up my editor on sale here in Europe for just €99 (without the activation code). Roughly $108. Was a deal I absolutely could not turn down 😅 I’m pairing it with the free version of Davinci which is good enough for my experience level. Works absolutely fine 👍🏾 It’s a well built piece of kit. I’m learning all the shortcut keys now. There’s some very cool key commands that really add additional functionality to your workflow. Highly recommended!!

Great video, I love this style of raw unboxing emotions and first impressions. Also that intro was a million dollars. I'm looking to get myself a speed editor in the following months, mostly just for the license. I was kinda split between getting the Atem Mini or Speed Editor, but I think I'll go for the editor first.

Yeah for the license it is definitely worth it I would say. I need to learn it more but seems fantastic so far

That thing is sick, dude. I'd love to be able to adapt one for Final Cut!
@jakefelzien2 жыл бұрын
Looks like there might possibly be a way. Course with the playhead following your cursor in FCPX, not sure if you'd really need this or not. One handed mouse editing with trim to start and end hot keys is about as fast as it gets with Final Cut

BTW I use the speed editor with my Razor laptop..... on the road in my minivan... it makes things easier by eliminating a lot of mouse movement.

Hi Jake, do you still use the speed editor? do you recomend buying it?
@jakefelzien Жыл бұрын
Alexis hi! I’ve actually been using it a lot this week. That being said I don’t do it the proper way 😅 I just love trim start to play head and end to play head short cuts and therefore I mostly just use the wheel as a play head mover with my keyboard shortcuts. Basically I use the wheel as my “mouse” for cutting a roll and I love the experience. Which means I should probably buy their editing keyboard but this was much cheaper 😂

@jakefelzien8 ай бұрын
Because it comes with the studio license I think it is worth it. If you already have DVR studio it’s a bit of a harder sell. With how good transcription is, I often use that to cull through footage rather than the cut page. But for stuff with no words it is great. I think my biggest ask is if you find the initial culling and selects process really painful. If so it’s worth a try to mix it up. Giveaway already happened so too late 😅😅

You are not allowed to seperate the licence that comes with Black Magic Design's Hardware. You absolutely cannot "give away" that license unless you are also "giving away" the speed editor! This is spelled out in the first page of the Davinci Resolve Studio license!
